✨ Journey to 300kg total

Anglian Open Comp Recap!!
🖤 Total: 275 (+22,5kg) - 🥈 U63 lifter
This was a day containing lots of mixed feelings as I was really hoping to get a total of 282,5-292,5kg (and not the lower end of the predicted total) - was feeling super stressed about this one, and other externals I couldn’t control stressed me tf out - but also on the other hand I did manage to PR insanely on squats and PR on bench - I will make a comeback with my deadlifts I swear 😪
Honestly couldn’t have done it without my amazing coach @_lunacoronado_ who has programmed me, supported me and was the one who made my lifts super strong! And of course @ironislandltd for providing me with the amazing lifting facilities/equipment - @kacper_kartz for always being my amazing handler and dealing with my annoying crap - but also and foremost everyone (including family) who volunteered and cheered me on @energyze_powerlifting 💕

🖤 Squat: 82,5/92,5/97,5kg (+17,5kg)
This one is probably the lift I’m most proud of, because since my previous comp in January squats have exploded exponentially - and it makes up nearly all the new kg added to the total lol… certified squat specialist now??

🖤 Bench: 52,5/57,5x/57,5kg (+5kg)
I’m a little sad about this one as I was able to pause 60kg pretty okay at the gym when training a few times, but this also gives me a bit of insight to definitely prioritise more paused bench work - new PB nonetheless 🙂‍↕️

🖤 Deadlift: 110/120/127,5kgx (=matched)
That 10 second grind man, I’m soooo annoyed but also very happy because after getting through a deadlift plateau I’m definitely counting this as a gym PR because my arms were on fire trying to fight for it - again definitely learnt what I need to improve or include in training to help me with the top part of the deadlift soooo I will get 130 one day I promise lol by @mayab.lifts

4 weeks out, and I’m getting closer to hitting my total goal of 300kg 😛

Regarding the fact I don’t come from a sports/gym background and the progress I’ve made since working with @_lunacoronado_ is INSANE‼️‼️ still being early on in my sports journey only means the total will be going up 📈

ALSO deadlift plateau has finally been broken WHOOP 🙌🏼

This PB needed its own video. For the longest time ever, hitting a one plate bench was a hugeeee milestone, this was like my ultimate life PR… looks like I’m on my road to hitting 70 now 😛😛

Northern Unis Comp Recap!!

🐝Squat: 67.5/72.5/80 (+5kg)
🐝Bench: 45/50/52.5 (+12.5kg)
🐝Deadlift: 102.5/112.5/120 (=matched)
✨TOTAL: 252.5kg (+20kg on comp total) 60.0 bw

I just want to say I’m super proud of myself, and everyone who competed today! Yayyyy.

Finally got out of that squat plateau, and feel like I have a little more than 80 in me 🫣. Switching to flat shoes has been a game changer, as I don’t feel like my long legs are a pain anymore lol.
A whooping 12.5 kilo comp PB is insane for bench like what? If you told me a year ago I’d be benching over 50 I wouldn’t believe you 💀 only means next time you see me I hope I’m benching blue plates 😌
Deadlifts have been soooo rocky these past few blocks but to match it on the day (with it moving the easiest it has ever) is a PB in it self… again next time you see me I’m getting 🔴🔴 on each side 😎

Thank you to @ellie.exercises for setting up my program and making it able for these PBs to happen! And @kacper_kartz who handled me so well even though he has never done that before, best hype man ♥️ And a massive thank you to everyone who volunteered and supported me on the day! @ynepf @bulp.uk by @mayab.lifts

Im going to get real and vulnerable with everyone.

After what felt like an „awful” competition performance yesterday, I told myself I wouldn’t post any of my lifts or a recap. I failed all three of my third attempts. I cried — like a lot lol. And even hours later, when it all finished and I got back home, I still couldn’t bring myself together to see anything positive in how the day went.

Squat: 65/72.5/77.5x (-2.5)
Bench: 37.5/40/45x (+2.5)
Deadlift: 110/120/125x (+5)
Total: 232.5kg @ 54.6kg

It wasn’t the total I wanted. It wasn’t what I worked for. And in that moment, it felt like I had nothing to show for all the effort I’d put in. But the truth is, a lot happened behind the scenes in this prep — stuff I wasn’t ready to talk about. Deep personal problems. Ongoing struggles with mental health. Intense exam stress that made it hard to even think straight or eat food normally (hence why I weighed in so light 😃). I came into this comp mentally exhausted and emotionally drained.

Everyone around me kept reminding me: I still showed up. I still did my best under tough circumstances. I still got on the platform and lifted — and that alone is something to be proud of (I guess hahahah). And it hit me that progress is NEVER linear, not every meet is going to be a highlight reel, and you can’t always control what life throws at you.

I got through it. And I’m so, SO grateful to everyone who supported me — whether you were there on the day giving me pep talks or sent encouragement through text messages. You helped me finish something I didn’t think I could even start. I also want to just say a massive thanks to my coach (@ellie.exercises) who helped me through this prep, and was so understanding throughout the process. And even though things didn’t go to plan, I feel like Ellie believed in my strength when I didn’t believe in myself at all, and I really appreciate her efforts through the program she wrote for me and being there for me on the day to handle me ♥️.

And a massive thanks to the whole @nupwc as without you guys I wouldn’t have started this sport in the first place. I have met so many wonderful people, and I love you guys 🥹 by @mayab.lifts

YNE March Open 2025 ✅

Weighed in @ 55.4kg

Squat: 62.5/70/75 (+10kg)
Bench: 32.5/37.5/40x (+2.5kg, even though I hit 40 literally a week ago, cba 🥱)
Deadlift: 100/107.5/115 (+15kg)

First comp RAHHHH. I was so stressed.

I just want to say how grateful I am for the whole coaching process from @ellie.exercises as I know we had a short peak but we really made the best of it. Side note ~ thank you for slapping my back as it got me to pull 115kg. I wouldn’t have done any of this if it wasn’t for Ellie.

Also thank you for everyone who support me either throughout the training sessions @nupwc and the people who supported me on the day! @tomdoz_pl @maisie.blee @maggie_hoff @patrickmoor.pl @vickyc.pt

I am super proud of myself as quite a few months ago I had a mental breakdown and I took quite a big break from the gym as I hit a full on plateau, but now I can confidently say that my total has increased a WHOLE 27.5kg since doing the mock meet in December. And I some how managed to pull up 🥇on the podium. I’m so flabbergasted! Hopefully there are more PRs to come, and many more comps to enter 💪

(Got to work on that nasty bench tho…)
