UPDATE: The plan for tonight’s outdoor class at Volunteer Park is changing.

😔 The sad news: Due to unhealthy air quality, we’re canceling tonight’s class at Volunteer Park.

🎉 The good news: We’re still dancing tonight!! We’ve secured a large, indoor space at Leif Erikson Hall in Ballard, so we can safely be together.

⭐️Where: Leif Erikson Hall (Ballard)
⭐️When: Class starts at 6:00 PM (Check-in begins at 5:30 PM)
⭐️Cost: FREE
⭐️Who: Everyone is welcome (including kids!)
⭐️Extras: Nike giveaways + more surprises
⭐️Important: You must re-register to attend, even if you already registered for Volunteer Park.

Because this venue has a strict capacity of 150 people, registration is first come, first served. Once we reach capacity, we won’t be able to admit additional dancers, so please register as soon as possible.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we navigate these changing air quality conditions. We’re grateful we found a way to keep our community dancing together, and we can’t wait to see as many of you as we can tonight.

still catching our breath, 4 weeks later 💜

thanks to our sis @kellyturso for capturing these moments… just a taste of the most weepy weekend of our lives.

nobody really tells you how ridiculous it is to be surrounded by all your people, rooting for you and loving you, loudly. it’s a fierce thing these celebrations; a collaboration of so many helping hands of so many dreams and wishes and gut spilling declarations. we are still swimming in the overwhelming sensation of good fortune and gratitude, and I think we will be for a while.

at a time when the world is so fraught when so many are in danger when so much that is sacred is in jeopardy, hoping we all continue to work in finding peace in togetherness, in love, with our people.

Come take class with @mayaroset Maya Tacon at SFD+I!

Maya Tacon (she/her) is a movement and teaching artist based in Seattle. She was born and raised in New York and graduated with honors from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance after studying abroad at Taipei National University of the Arts in Taiwan. In Seattle, Maya has performed for artists such as Cameo Lethem, Jordan Macintosh-Hougham, Michelle Miller, Andy McShea, Joseph Hernandez, Alice Gosti, and acted as Rehearsal Director for Lavinia Vago. Maya is one half of CO-, a collaborative entity that curates and produces dance events, teaches for the worldwide family of Dance Church ®, and guides professional level classes for the Seattle dance community. She is a certified Pilates instructor, and is deeply passionate about facilitating an empowering practice for professional movers and non-dancers alike.
