Black, queer, culture-led. We’re not waiting for rooms to open, we’re designing new ones.

I got tired of shrinking inside spaces that couldn’t hold the kind of work I knew was possible.
So I built something real.

Mayers Studio New York is where big ideas become strategy, with culture at the center instead of the sidelines.

And Just So You Know is my personal field journal where I’m sharing what it really takes to build with clarity.

Join us at NYFW — this Friday 9.12.

We asked community builders a question:
“Why does culture matter and what does it demand right now?”

The answers were candid, layered, and real.
This is the beginning of a longer conversation.
These are Culture Voices.

“Culture is both inherited and created.
It’s both a living resistance and a celebration of who we are.”

Why does it matter to you?
Let’s explore that together.

🎥 Add your voice. Link in bio.

At the @metmuseum we didn’t perform Pride.
We designed a space that held people.
Through sound. Through stillness.
Through a prompt that asked:

What track holds the memory of a moment you felt fully yourself?

The answers were true.
So were the emotions.

Prompt. Sound. Space. Sequence.

Our playlist is live now.
So is the structure behind it.

Tap the link to feel it for yourself.
If it resonates, you’ll know where to go next.

Juneteenth Rodeo 2025 🔴⚫️🟢

The rain came. The layout changed.
But the space didn’t fold.
It held because it was built to.

Culture isn’t content.
It’s the conditions we create.
And when they’re shaped with clarity, they hold—even under pressure.

We made sure this happened.
Because spaces rooted in Black joy and collective care don’t just appear.
They’re shaped and protected—especially when systems are under pressure, and culture work is being politicized more than it’s being resourced.

This was one version. And there’s more coming.
