Over the last week or so, I’ve had some quiet time to reflect on the journey that’s brought me to where I am today.

Life has thrown us curve balls. As a family, we’ve faced challenges that tested us in ways I never imagined. There were moments of uncertainty, stress, and deep growing pains. But through every hard season, we moved forward not perfectly, but together. And we came out stronger than before…and still healing every day.

When I look at the picture of me and the three boys, I don’t just see a snapshot in time. I see resilience. I see shared experiences…the good, the bad, and the ugly and the bond that was built in the middle of it all.

No matter what happens in life, it is my honor to protect that bond. To nurture it. To fight for it. To make sure the connection between them remains strong and steady. I think about their future constantly and how to continue to be a guiding light for them. I hope life never pulls them too far apart but if it tries, I will always do my best to keep us grounded in what matters most.

Family isn’t just blood. It’s shared history. It’s showing up.

Day 2 is a wrap, and I’m calling it a success.

I met the people I came to meet, reconnected with the people I wanted to reconnect with, and somehow ended up with even more than I expected.

Ran into familiar faces I haven’t seen in years. Made new connections. Had some great conversations. And got to spread the word about new opportunities to collaborate with fellow professionals.

This is why I show up.

The people. The relationships. The conversations. The opportunities that come from simply being in the room.

Blessed for this life and grateful for the opportunities that continue to be put in front of us.

Well… the emergency sparkly shoes have officially been activated.

Somewhere halfway through a full day of networking, reconnecting, walking, talking, learning, and meeting new people, the gold heels and I had to have a conversation.

The sparkly shoes won.

And honestly, what a great day it’s been. So many familiar faces I haven’t seen in way too long, plenty of hugs and laughs, and some amazing new connections along the way.

This is what I love about getting together in person. The conversations. The reconnections. The unexpected introductions. The relationships…

My feet may have tapped out, but I’m not done yet.

DAY ONE of PDA! Let’s go.

Blue suit. Gold heels. And yes… the sparkly emergency shoes made the trip. I know you’ve all been waiting. And apparently, so has everyone here because I’ve already been asked, “Where are the shoes?” 😂

But today isn’t just about the shoes.

It’s about showing up ready to learn, ready to reconnect, and ready to meet some new faces.

There is so much happening in this industry, and I’m here for the conversations, the ideas, the challenges, and the opportunities that come from putting great people in the same room.

So let’s dig in. Let’s learn. Let’s connect. Let’s share. Let’s make some magic.

One of the best pieces of advice I learned a long time ago:

Understand before you try to be understood.

This passage from The Diary of a CEO reminded me of just how much I’ve relied on that over the years.

In a negotiation, a disagreement, or a heated conversation, I’ve learned that really trying to understand someone their perspective, their why, and where they’re coming from, changes everything.

You don’t have to agree with someone to understand them.

Sometimes, being heard and understood is the very first step toward actually resolving the issue.

Disagree less…and focus on understanding more…. by @mazzchrisann

This afternoon I sat on my porch with my coffee and just listened.

Dirt bikes in the distance….the boys laughing.
The breeze. The animals.
The sounds of my home…

And for a minute, I wasn’t thinking about what’s next, what needs to get done, what I should be doing, or what I’m still chasing.

I just sat there and thought…Damn. I’m really lucky.

Life has been messy. Hard. Beautiful. Exhausting. Unexpected. And I’ve spent a lot of time fighting for the life I wanted.

But sitting there in this moment, I realized… I’m living it.

My boys. My babe. My home and my family. My crazy, imperfect, beautiful life.
