Yeah… Family & Friends Day was THAT kind of Sunday. 😮‍💨🙌🏾

The house was FULL. The love was REAL. And the joy? EVERYWHERE. ❤️

We welcomed family and friends, celebrated new life through Baptism, and witnessed a beautiful Baby Dedication — all in one incredible Sunday.

From new beginnings to the next generation, this is what family looks like at Monumental.

This is home. ❤️

We have several questions. None of them will be answered at this time. 😭😂

Apparently Pastor & First Lady have been preparing for tonight’s 200th Anniversary Gala in their own way. 🕺🏾💃🏾

Please govern yourselves accordingly.

See y’all tonight. 😂

No, Pastor isn’t starring in a documentary. 🎬

We just couldn’t resist the trend. 😄

Every August, Rev. Dr. J. Wendell Mapson Jr. intentionally sets aside time to recharge, reflect, and refuel—a healthy rhythm he’s embraced for years.

During this time, we’re excited for our 2026 Summer Preaching Series, featuring dynamic guest voices each Sunday throughout August. 🙌

Join us this Sunday, August 9 at 10:00 AM as we kick off an incredible month of worship and the Word.

We’ll see you Sunday! ✨

WEST PHILLY, Y’ALL DID THAT. 🔥💙🧡

Worship hit the street. The music was right. The food was flowing. The kids had a time—and the whole block felt like family.

Thank you to every neighbor, guest, volunteer, ministry team, partner, sponsor, and member of the THIS IS HOME Planning Team who helped bring this vision to life.

Watch it back, tag somebody you see, and share the love—because THIS IS HOME.

WEST PHILLY—THANK YOU! 💙🧡💚

What happened on the block was bigger than an event. It was worship, service, joy, community, and love in motion.

To our partners and sponsors, volunteers and ministry teams, the THIS IS HOME Planning Team, and our pastor, Rev. Dr. J. Wendell Mapson, Jr.—thank you for the vision, sacrifice, leadership, and excellence that made this day possible.

And to every family, neighbor, friend, and guest who came out: thank you for showing up and making this celebration unforgettable.

For 200 years, Monumental has been rooted in this community—and this weekend reminded us why.

West Philly, THIS IS HOME.

39 years. One covenant. Countless memories. ❤️

Before this Sunday comes to a close, we celebrate Pastor J. Wendell Mapson, Jr. and First Lady Minister Shirley D. Mapson on 39 years of love, faithfulness, and partnership.

Through every season, their marriage has reflected commitment, grace, and a shared devotion to God, family, and ministry. Pastor and First Lady, your Monumental family honors you and thanks God for the beautiful example of covenant love you continue to be.

Help us celebrate them by leaving an anniversary message in the comments! 👇🏾❤️
