We can’t really describe how thankful we are for the turnout and responses to Come We Dance 2, particularly the preview of the works in progress for the upcoming album. It was humbling, inspiring, and energizing! Let’s do it again soon!

We’d like to say a special thanks to everyone who made the night possible: the crew at @themist.ke @themallwestlands + the Photo House crew of @k_kymani @kibenduni, @sedarmalaki for additional instrumentation, and of course all of you, the audience! A special shout-out goes to our Supporter and Patron ticket buyers, you made the evening possible for everyone. Thank you so much for the support and good vibes!

We’re carrying your awesome energy back to the studio as we finish the music and develop the visuals. Please stay tuned to these socials and our website for updates and more process posts and sneak peeks. by @mbithi

Day 4 | Docubox Creative Producers Lab 2026 🎬
Powerful films don't begin on set; they begin with bold ideas, intentional development, and the right creative ecosystem.

This week, seven teams of Kenyan producers and writers developing feature-length fiction films are immersed in the Docubox Creative Producers Lab 2026, a five-day intensive designed to strengthen stories before they reach the screen.
Led by acclaimed Nigerian producer Chioma Onyenwe @ch10ma, founder of @raconteurprod, alongside renowned filmmaker @mbithi Masya, the lab is equipping participants with the tools to refine their projects through creative producing, story development, audience positioning, financing strategies, and international market readiness.

But this is only the beginning.
Beyond the in-person sessions, each team will continue receiving mentorship from creative producers, story consultants, and script doctors, while benefiting from a development grant to strengthen their scripts, production bibles, and investor-ready materials.

In just two days, these producers will join filmmakers, funders, distributors, broadcasters, and industry leaders from around the world at the Docubox International Partnership Summit 2026, opening doors to meaningful collaborations and the next chapter of their filmmaking journeys.

Here's to building stronger stories, stronger producers, and a stronger African film industry.

#CanneLions2026 was pure magic ✨.

Special shoutout to some of the best humans from all over the world, my fellow Film Craft jurors and jury president. Who knew a few days shut in a cold, dark room could bond people? I deeply appreciate you all 🙏🏿.

I’ll be thinking about that week and a half for a long while. So no big takeaway, for now. Back to it 🔥. taken in Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity by @mbithi

My @nbofilmfest fam 💛 — and many more who aren’t in the pic. Sometimes we joke, sometimes we laugh, but we’re always serious about movies 😠.

@vis_age.2024 was such a fantastic experience! I can’t believe I got to meet & share the stage with living legends of the VFX world. Legends from ILM, Weta, Chocolate Tribe and more! We had VFX supervisors, animators, concept artists, and MoCap performers in town whose works include Wakanda Forever, the Matrix movies, The Creator, Planet of the Apes, Kong, Godzilla, Batman v Supes, and SO MUCH MORE!

I left so inspired and challenged. I can’t wait for next year’s festival. And to get back on that set creating again. @yvonnemuindeart , Phillip and the rest of the @ikwetaarts team, you did the ting! 👊🏿✨🌿
