NEW RELEASE: As World War I rages, six artists are called to New York City to master the art of visual deception in a newly formed division of the army: the Women’s Reserve Camouflage Corps. When Nadine, a sheltered young painter, volunteers for the project, she finds herself among women who make art in all different mediums, who must undergo rigorous military training to conceal people and equipment. But while they learn to make objects disappear under the leadership of a sympathetic lieutenant, the women begin to wrestle with what it means to be unseen themselves. Skeptical senior officers try to undermine them at every turn, and tensions begin to rise among them. Can they come together as a unit to use the art of camouflage to save lives in the field? And if they do, who will tell their story? The legacy of unsung women comes to life with exciting theatrical imagery in this unique historical drama.

Camoufleurs was developed through the Stage Partners One-Act Play Commission program with EdTA, and workshopped with a cast of Thespians from across the country at International Thespian Festival 2026, culminating in a premiere staged reading. by @mcboxandpen

Hey, my fabulous friends! I know that school is about to start gearing up and many of you are beginning the search for your seasons, if you haven’t already!

I just wanted to offer my two cents from a playwrights point of view (not a plug what-so-ever...just things to consider):

*Stage Partners allows you to read all their titles for FREE (and REAL people answer the phones and have really wonderful recommendations and conversations!)

*On the Concord Theatricals Website, several of their titles (many that were from Playscripts) have a preview option in a small icon under the photo on the right side of the screen

*Next Stage Press has some wonderful scripts and Gene Kato is wonderful to work with!

Above all, before you reach out to see who has electronic copies of scripts, consider splurging on a copy to add to your personal or school library!

Yes, you might have to pass up your Venti Iced Shaken Espresso, no Classic, 2 pumps White Chocolate Mocha, 2 pumps Brown Sugar Syrup...oh, wait...THAT’S ME! hee hee

There are so many wonderful playwrights in Texas (and beyond) that are writing some really great works! Let’s keep supporting them!

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk! Have a great year! by @mcboxandpen
