In honor of Sedgefield Country Club's centennial, members, champions, industry leaders, and friends of the club share their congratulations and appreciation for 100 years of cherished traditions and an enduring legacy.

Since its founding in 1926, Sedgefield has played a significant role in both golf and North Carolina history, hosting the state's oldest PGA Tour event, serving as the birthplace of the Atlantic Coast Conference, and welcoming generations of guests through the historic Sedgefield Inn. Above all, it has remained a place where people come together to play, celebrate, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Under McConnell Golf, Sedgefield continues to preserve its history while shaping the future of the game. 🏆 taken in Greensboro, North Carolina by @mcconnellgolf

It was an eventful Monday as the Grayson Murray Classic took place at The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation. McConnell Golf is proud to partner with the Grayson Murray Foundation in its efforts to raise awareness of mental health challenges while honoring the life of our former junior scholar, Grayson Murray. He will forever be missed, but may his legacy live on through helping others. ⛳ by @mcconnellgolf

For National Golf Lovers Day, we’re highlighting a member whose passion for golf has taken him to 2,852 courses, including every McConnell Golf property across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Daryl’s quest began in 1994 at Musgrove Mill Golf Club, where he started documenting the courses he played. Now, just 148 more stands between him and 3,000. Read his full story via the link in bio. by @mcconnellgolf

What a moment for Country Club of Asheville ⛳

The odds of qualifying for and competing in a PGA Tour event are less than 0.01%, but Phillip Yribarren, Assistant Golf Professional at CCA, showed incredible patience and persistence to earn his opportunity.

On Monday, September 14, CCA hosted a Monday qualifier for the Biltmore Championship. By the end of the day, one of our own had earned a spot to compete on one of the biggest stages in competitive golf.

🏈 As the NFL season kicks off, we’re highlighting a football legend who found a new game to love.

After a five-time Pro Bowl career with the Green Bay Packers, Sterling Sharpe traded the gridiron for the golf course, proving that the competitive spirit doesn’t always stay on the field. ⛳️

One of the PGA TOUR’s longest-running relationships will continue into a new era as Sedgefield Country Club remains home to Greensboro’s PGA TOUR event. ⛳

Beginning in 2028, the tournament will become part of the new PGA TOUR Championship Series, with Raymond James serving as title sponsor. The event will be contested as a full-field PGA TOUR event in 2027 before transitioning to the Championship Series.

The announcement ensures Sedgefield will remain on one of golf’s biggest stages as the PGA TOUR enters its next era.
