finally getting around to doing a post about my year 3 exhibition, which was held in Sailor’s Home last April *:･ﾟ✧

This Form of Knowing

An installation displaying 35mm slide film and a video piece presented on a CRT TV.

Attempting to know someone through the objects they left behind, which serve as a keepsake and a repository of memories.

Locating myself in these memories, trying to recollect something that never occurred.
The memories we should have known together.

But knowing that it could only ever be a nearness of him.

✧
Big thank you to everyone who came to visit the work + supported me towards the making of this exhibition ♥

Places Known Apart

These are a few pages from a book publication I made earlier this year.

This publication is a collection of photos I’ve taken, as-well as archival family material. It aims to explore themes of place, home and memory.

It is included in this year’s Dublin Art Book Fair held in @templebargalleryandstudios which opens tomorrow, 7th Dec ✨ taken in Limerick School of Art & Design TUS by @mccoyfea

What Remains Absent, 2025
Solstice Arts Centre, Navan.

Tomorrow opens an exhibition of some old, new and ongoing photographic work of mine.

Attempting to reclaim something that was lost and an unknowing in what’s ahead. Paths, roads, canals where my dad grew up and the little that I know of them.

Huge honour to accompany the amazing work of Barbara and her exhibition Gvozdene Kapije (The Iron Gates).

Big thank you Barbara and Rayne for asking me to be involved! ✧*。

Introducing Feá McCoy ☆ミ

Feá McCoy is a visual artist and photographer from Cork, who recently graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design. Working primarily in still photography, she emphasises analogue mediums in her practice with a particular focus on slide film and the performance of projection.

Feá’s work delves into the relationship between memory, place and grief, which are inherent in family photographs. Navigating the past through archival family material, Feá plays in an act of remembering and reimagining. Through the photographs she takes, she attempts to construct a fantastical past and embark on a detective trail to uncover alternate versions of a real one.

golden girl of the cork festival 1980 - my mam

My mam, Marion acted in a few films when she was younger. These short films were written and directed by the late Frank Morgan, the founder of Rathcormac Film Unit.

To celebrate Cork films and Frank’s work, three of his films were shown today in the Triskel as part of Cork International Film Festival. Lá Aoife was one of his most successful and awarded films, and it was first released as part of Cork Film Festival in 1980.

Was so lovely to see these brilliant films restored and to see my mam on the big screen!
