I want to post this for all the old heads in this clip that most likely never got to see themselves on four wheels on video.
Most of them were from the era of just doing it for the love and not for the credibility.
I hope they get to show their mates or their kids what they “wasted” their youth doing.
Just seeing Falky chuck that massive frontside flip out the gates or Jonny Mac finesse himself around the place with style warms my heart ❤️
@the_sensational_alex_harvey and @wetheloons motivate me to share the rich Tasmanian skate scene that once was and hopefully light a fire under a new generation of rippers 🤞🏼

Alex Harvey and Alastair Mooney McGavin4

Harvey and Mooney had the most special relationship.
They were Cousins and Brothers. It sounds like a really inbred Tasmanian thing but it’s not a two headed joke.
Harvey lived in Launceston before he moved to Melbourne which meant the two of them got to spend enough time to put together something special for them both to look back on one day, and this is it!
Harvey was always passionate about being apart of his friends and family’s projects and that comes across in this clip. You can see him smiling having fun with friends, putting himself on the line for a clip and just sharing the McGavin stoke we all shared at the time.
I’ll miss his passion for skateboarding which helped shape a session into the best times and often ended up with him getting a clip or photo.
Cherish your times spent skating with friends because you never know when your last skate together will be by @mcgavin

Thank you to everyone that made the weekend such a special time for me, my friends, family and all the new friends and family. I’m so thankful to be a part of such a strong community that Harvey had helped build and nourish in so many ways.
Every morning he opened his eyes and painted brightness, love and passion on the canvas of life and I’ll cherish those canvases saved in my own personal museum. All are welcome inside, and even though it’s a little dark inside at the moment the walls are packed with bright colourful pieces that are priceless. I’m hurting now more than ever but I’m getting help from doctors, friends and family. If you’re in pain I encourage you to seek help from professionals and people you hold close to your heart. It’s important to honestly have the hard conversations and let others know what you’re going through because I can tell you they’ve probably been there and don’t want to see loved ones hurting in silence. Wet your brush with colour and wave it on the medium you love because people out there will hang it on their walls and cherish it forever. taken in West Hobart Skate Bowl by @mcgavin

Today was the last day of trade on Smith Street.
I couldn’t bring myself to go down there one last time.
The place has brought me so much joy and gratitude but also pain and suffering.
I want to thank everyone that supported me over the years and I can’t wait to share the next chapter of buying a kebab shop with you all. taken in Frankie’s Tortas and Tacos by @mcgavin
