Yesterday, we hosted our first Mic & Mind community workshop, and it felt surreal watching it all come to life.

A big thank you to everyone who spent Friday afternoon with us, to @mcgrathlaisa and @myfriendscallmebigenyi for sharing their knowledge and guiding us through the sessions, and to @socialiaisestudios for giving us the space to make it happen.

We also had @themysterymailsociety join us for a little mystery-solving activity that got everyone following clues and piecing a story together.

From exploring creative frameworks to making mood boards and talking about folklore and the patterns that show up in our stories, we got to learn and put some of what we learnt into practice.

It was a beautiful afternoon, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. by @mcgrathlaisa

Meet our facilitator, Laisa Layode McGrath

@mcgrathlaisa is a Fashion Consultant, Design Thinking Facilitator, Illustrator and Lead Consultant at @mcgrath.creative, with a decade of experience in the fashion industry. She has worked with notable fashion brands and businesses both locally and internationally, helping them develop innovative products, strengthen creative processes, and build commercially viable fashion solutions.

Specializing in design thinking, collection development, creative strategy, and AI-powered innovation, Laisa equips fashion entrepreneurs with practical frameworks to generate original ideas, solve design challenges, and build sustainable brands.

Through consulting, workshops, and mentorship, she is passionate about nurturing a new generation of fashion entrepreneurs who create with purpose, think strategically, and compete confidently in the global fashion industry.

At Design Thinking for Creative Artists, Laisa will lead our first session on the Design Thinking Framework, taking us through how designers think, the design process, moodboards and working through creative blocks.
