May 12 marks one year of The Lawton Group.

After a couple of unexpected career shifts, I started this business without much announcement. Not out of hesitation, but because I prefer to build before broadcasting.

So I kept my head down.

Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside founders and small business owners in industry-agnostic work. Serving as a thought partner and operator across strategy and operations while helping bring clarity, structure, and momentum to what people are building.

But the part I didn’t fully anticipate being my favorite? Getting to be a cheerleader and a fierce advocate for the people behind the businesses - watching their ideas evolve, sharpen, and grow into something even better than where they started.

I’m grateful to be even a small tool in their toolbox and to be part of what they’re building.

It’s no secret that building something of your own is hard - but as many founders can attest - it’s worth it.

If you’re curious about the work or the people I’ve had the chance to support, you can read client stories here: https://www.lawton-group.com/home

Celebrated Mom’s Retirement after 43 years ✨

She built a hugely successful career and was deeply respected by both her clients and colleagues. What I’ve always admired is how she led with consistency, grit, professionalism, and kindness - qualities that have influenced me more than she knows.

Specifically, as a career long entrepreneur - this influenced not just my career path, but the mindset I bring to it. I’m extremely lucky to have such an epic human in my life.

A well-deserved retirement for someone who set the bar incredibly high. Congrats, Mom - cannot wait to celebrate this together.🫶👊

PS what can we do next?!🤭🤫 by @mcplawton

The thing about Boston chicks? We show up 💥
Work Like a Girl went IRL in a big way & it was killer. We’re all about women connecting, collaborating, and lifting each other up—and I’m so jazzed to be part of building this crew. One minute we’re talking Bernese Mountain Dogs, the next it’s your next promotion. Wouldn’t want you to miss it 🤭
P.S. some of us met IRL for the first time in 5 years (!!) — shout out to Token CEO for bringing the early birds together 💗 taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @mcplawton
