I’m excited to share what’s coming next for my collage paintings! Over the next year, my work will travel to galleries, arts centers, and cultural institutions across North Carolina and Virginia. For me, collage is more than a technique. It’s a way of building stories from fragments of the real world. Through imagery, color, texture, painted surfaces, and found materials, I create contemporary works that explore memory, identity, culture, history, place, and the human experience. For more than three decades, I have developed a distinctive visual language through collage, combining personal memory, cultural history, popular culture, spirituality, and everyday experience. I am continuing the African American collage tradition while simultaneously emphasizing my own contemporary vocabulary, artistic perspective, and commitment to expanding the possibilities of collage painting. Each work is both a personal statement and part of a larger conversation about American art. 💥UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS & PRESENTATIONS Farmville Community Arts Council — Farmville, NC 📅 November 15–December 25, 2026 Community Council for the Arts (CCA) — Kinston, NC 📅 January 12–March 13, 2027 Renaissance Centre — Wake Forest, NC 📅 March 1–April 19, 2027 🥂 Reception: March 12, 5–7 PM Alamance Arts — Graham, NC 📅 May 11–June 18, 2027 GPAC — Garner, NC 📅 June–July 2027 🎨 Juneteenth Art Exhibition Piedmont Arts — Statesville, VA 📅 November 19, 2027–January 15, 2028 - Fuquay-Varina Arts Center - Fuquay-Varina, NC 📅 September - October 2028 I’m proud of the impact these paintings are having and grateful for every opportunity to share them with new audiences. These exhibitions mark another chapter in my journey as a great American artist. PRISMACOLOR — LAST 4 PRINTS AVAILABLE! I’ve always approached abstraction as a way of exploring color, movement, shape, texture, and emotion, creating a visual experience that doesn’t have to explain itself. For me, abstract art is about trusting the process, embracing spontaneity, and allowing the viewer to bring their own experience and interpretation to the work. Prismacolor is part of that exploration. 🖼️ Hand-signed giclée print on archival paper 📐 20 × 16 inches (unframed) $60 each 🔥 Only 4 prints remain! https://ericmcray.com/product/prismacolor/ If you’ve been looking for an affordable piece of my abstract work, this is your opportunity. Once these four are gone, they’re gone! Ever Upwards, Eric McRay #EricMcRay #McRayStudios #AbstractArt #GicleePrint #ArtCollectors taken in Garner, North Carolina by @mcraystudios
