As we draw closer to the end of our training season I’m reminded of just why we do this. I get to teach gun school to awesome people along side of some of the best humans I have ever met.

You Suck, It’s Not The Gun (YSINTG) is an eye-opening class that isolates the two fundamentals needed to get a hit—sight alignment and trigger control—then brings them together to help students understand the complete shot process. The improvement we see from students in just this one class is truly amazing. by @mdfi_tim

Had an absurdly good time running @mdfitraining Low Light Handgun and Low Light Long Gun this weekend with @mdfi_roman out at @spectaclelakeoutdoorclub

Two nights of locked in shooters did the damn thing. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the weekend what it was.

Truly love running our "advanced" (quotation marks because shooting is shooting, but environments can change) level of classes for our Alumni. Getting people started on their path is crazy rewarding, and we are very blessed to be able to do so for so many people. But there's a whole lot more to the game than the basics, and it's great to see people stay hungry and get after it when the conditions are less than perfect.

Next weekend we're in West Olive MI for a YSINTG and the last Foundation Shotgun of the year.

Life is good.

Hard to believe, but there aren’t many classes left in the 2026 training season. If you’ve been planning to join us on the range this year, now’s the time. Here’s what’s left. by @mdfi_tim

After two awesome classes this weekend, this solidifies why we do what we do.

If you or someone you know is looking for firearms training, but don’t know where to start have them get in touch with us and we will help out them on the right path. by @mdfi_tim

My happy place. Prepping for tomorrow's Foundation Carbine the hard way at @blackcreekrange with @beardsnbullets
And @mdfi_grant

Confirming zeros and shooting quals under toobs.

Who's all training this weekend? Classes, matches, range trip, dry fire, it's all good. Get after it.

YSS! Was an epic time of teaching some of our alumni that speed and accuracy isn’t just possible but attainable through concepts involving grip, sights, and triggers! As well as efficiency in our draw so we can go FULL TILT LIKE A PETERBILT! 🤘🏻

Continuing on with our "Guns of MDFI" series.

@mdfi_tim primary teaching/training gun. @staccato2011 4.4in P. Gun has been an absolute work horse since I picked it up in 2020, and I am certainly not kind to it.

Currently has a C2/ODS shortened grip module for when it gets carried with the 16rd mags, with stippling and grip reduction from @greatlakescw and a @machine.werks low pro magwell.

@aimpointusa P2 riding in a @chpws plate. @tangodown battery cap because the OE one is plastic and soft as baby poop. @surefire_llc X300T along for the ride.

Usually ran out of a @safarilandgroup or a @henryholstersofficial AIWB rig

I grew up on the 1911, and made the switch back to these from Glocks after I realized I was constantly trying to build a better mousetrap instead of just trying out something different. They are not magic by any means, but I find them more enjoyable to shoot. Certainly comes with the cost of a different maintenance schedule which I admit I neglect more often than I should (which drives @mdfi_roman crazy) as well as more attention paid to changing out springs and extractors.

Capatalism is awesome. Let it solve problems for you, but know why you are doing it.
