Back to Open Ground on December 5th, once again in the simply perfect Annex room, featuring a DJ set by opo, live sets by Tropa Macaca and Rudi J, plus some warm-up action by the Meakusma DJs. This night celebrates the release of a 10inch by Tropa Macaca on Meakusma.

And yes, there will once again be a shuttle bus, leaving from Brussels, stopping in Eupen, and then going straight to Open Ground. And back the morning after, of course.

Admission 65 € (Bus + Clubnight Ticket)

MICHAEL FOSTER, LEILA BORDREUIL & CHRIS CORSANO and HANNE DE BACKER, live at Galerie vorn und oben in Eupen, 11.10.2026

Another night of concerts, the first one after the festival, at the trusted Galerie vorn und oben in Eupen, featuring the always mesmerizing trio of New York-based saxophonist and multi‑instrumentalist Michael Foster, French‑American cellist and composer Leila Bordreuil, and New York-based drummer Chris Corsano, one of the most influential and sought‑after drummers in contemporary experimental music.

Support comes from Belgian baritone saxophonist Hanne De Backer, based in Brussels, an incredibly energetic and versatile performer who mainly works in improvised music.

Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil & Chris Corsano, trio
Foster, Bordreuil and Corsano have been active as a trio ever since 2012, when Corsano joined the duo of Foster and Bordreuil, intent on developing a shared aesthetic and artistic vision and concept. Their playing and artistic research are visceral and iconoclastic, making them luminaries of the American noise and improv scene and far beyond. They are touring Europe as a trio for the first time.

Hanne De Backer
Versatile and unique, Hanne De Backer is the founder of the gabbro collective, where she works as both a musician and an artistic and production leader. She is currently active in many bands and projects spanning improv, composed, and contemporary music. She also frequently collaborates with improvised constellations with musicians from Belgium and abroad.

What a blast this year’s Meakusma Festival was! We are still trying to beam back to Earth, literally having been catapulted beyond the seven rings of Saturn by how everything turned out.
Thanks are in order.

Our trusted partner for many years, ArsVitha, and, of course, all our other creative partners for their tireless input and work. Our dedicated team of freelancers, with many new faces this year, who kept everything running very smoothly. Our volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible. All the artists and musicians who gave us tons of amazing performances. The people responsible for the sound in all the venues; everything sounded excellent everywhere. „the italian crew“ behind the scenography, light design and decor across the stages and corridors. And of course, our audience, there for us wherever we go. Thank you.

BRUCE DJ SET ON KIOSK RADIO, TONIGHT 9 PM CET

Bruce, real name Larry McCarthy, played a bone-breakingly versatile set in the Halle room of the 2026 Meakusma Festival, in between sets by Demdike Stare and Anderson Do Paraiso.

Bruce has been a fundamental force in Hessle Audio since his 2014 debut. He is also closely affiliated with the Timedance label. His 2026 ‘four more than four’ album on Poorly Knit delves into mutant techno, punky steppas, cavernous ambient, and wry vocal snatches, as versatile an affair as this set.
