DAY 13 of the DOGGY BAG mixtape Extravaganza: “GEN_V-HS (meanspath Remix)”
Produced by @meanspath

“meanspath is the instrumental project of J Riley Hill it comes from taking a step back, spending a few years working on a bunch music without preconceived ideas of what to make and finding a sound, style and songs that seemed right.” ~meanspath (from Bandcamp)

meanspath has taken the bright and nostalgic sound of the original GEN_V-HS and turned it into a dark ambient boom-bap jaunt through a forest of experimental electronica on a heavy overcast day. This track is an ominous, turbulent trip. Our first draft of the original GEN_V-HS was faster than this. It was even faster than the final release. Even so, it reminded us of VHS tapes and fifth generation era video game consoles. This remix shows how we all slow down as our lives pass us by. At our current pace, the version of GEN_V-HS that comes out 10 years from now will be 20 minutes long, our forecasts show.

Wait and find out what the numbers say on July 3. by @meanspath

New song from @meanspath today, that’s me. It’s a single with an a and b side. It is up on all the streaming services RIGHT NOW. I will probably not put it up on Bandcamp as a single until I have more songs to put it with…. But if you want the digital download lmk and I’ll do it. #ambientmusic #electronicmusic #ambienttechno by @meanspath

I hadn’t seen him in like 15 years LOL. This song is really tied to this area in my head…. I released it a couple years ago or so ago but it’s been consistently my most listened to song, so i recently decided to make a better “music video” for it, it’s on my YouTube! #ambientmusic #ambienttechno #electronicmusic #experimentalmusic by @meanspath
