Hey #MedRank fam. Transparency is literally how I make it through the hard times during this long winded process!

I told yall cardio was rough and while I thought I could be a heart breaker, I'm clearly still a lover boy who needs just maybe a few more practice questions 🤣😭

Medical School can be a lot and holding it in benefits no one. One key thing I like to keep in mind is the idea that no matter what, I am exactly where I'm supposed to be and if it were easy, everyone would do it!

To my fellow classmates and colleagues, continue to push forward and never give up on your dream. It's a small thing to a GIANT!💙

2026 Health Promotions Presentation 🩺

We are currently in our Module B: Integumentary & Musculoskeletal Block and one of the requirements was to research and present on a topics chosen by our groups, specially focusing on diabetic patients.

My group chose to present on "Medication Adherence & Health Literacy in Older Adults"

This was a great experience for team collaboration, soft research and data analysis, and public speaking which are all qualities and skills needed to be a Physician in the current medical world!

Of course public speaking is my original first calling so I did NOT use the mic and I felt quite at home!

Check out the end of the video to see short clips of my specific role in the group which was "Operations, Evaluation, and Conclusion" where I discussed the community roll out plan as well as the evaluation of these plans and Mitigation Matrix! Thank you to my colleagues for a great experience!

Here's to continuing a passion of development, education, and practice to becoming Dr. Rankins!

Hey #MedRank Fam💙

Anatomy Module is in full throttle and I thought to bring you guys along for a little recap of lab.

The overall lab is about 3.5 hours so this is just a small sample but today was really fun as we interacted without super human "Sectra" machine, did some clinical correlations and even got a chance to get versed in ultra sound techniques while going over the "Cubital Fossa, Fore arm and Hand" sections of our body!

These are the experiences that make studying for 15-18 hours all worth it. Can't wait to see what we do next. As always, thanks for supporting me on this journey to BECOMING, MD.R 🙏🏾🩺👨🏾‍⚕️

Med School Fashion Fridays is BACK!

I know I've been MIA. I just had 3 exams in one week and I had to LOCK TF IN. So here's a compilation of what I like to call my "by any means necessary" fashion. Which means I will be likely studying 16 hours in a day so I need to be extremely comfortable.

Ad you see I put on real clothes once last week and then after that it was Athleisure all the way 🤣

We survived and PASSED another module, we fight forward on this journey called medical school! God knows I've had the fight of a lifetime this year with all I've been through.

Wanna know my secret? Having the BEST support system a kid could ask for. Talk about a DAD. My Dad My Dad My Dad. Yep, you know imma pull that card every time and what about it? lol I used to not want to do that as a kid because I didn't want to lose to the spoiled brat allegations, but that's something we as black men and community actually got wrong. I work hard for everything, I just also have a family gives me everything because of that work ethic.

It IS a flex that I have a father who can and does everything in the world for his kid. And for that? I'm grateful! 🙏🏾

Here's some pics from my time spent at work with him and just over this module! Thank you to all of the Nurses, Reps, and Doctors who allowed me into your spaces! Special S/O to Dr. Wade and Mrs. Jennifer as well.

6 more weeks and then I'll get a break again, can't wait to scrub in and see more cases hopefully this time cardio and plastic 👀 #thanksinadvance dad haha 💙🫶🏾🩺

A Day in the Life of a Medical Student - led by my intrusive thoughts 😂

Thursday was one of the LONGEST days I have ever had. A full 12 hour shift of grueling classes and studying.

I get asked a lot how my days are or what it looks like and tbh? It's different every day but the foccus is the same.

1. Early Mornings
2. None stop moving
3. Late nights

I call it rinse and repeat. It's something you have to get used to in med school and it does take a while, but it IS doable. Here's to 3 more years of the everlasting cycle. I wouldn't trade with for the world though 💙
