“Can you hold my hand?” you asked.

I looked over to see you climbing onto the railing. When you made it to the top of the bollard, I took your hand before you reached out.

Your hair was flowing in the wind and you looked toward the skyline, took a deep breath and jumped up high, taking in every single second of being able to be airborne if only for a few moments.

I know you relished every single moment until you met the water again. And when you finally surfaced, I could see the sun. Not the actual sun. But the light that radiated from you. And that’s what you are to me. The sun.

In those moments where things were dark, you never wavered. You shone a light on me every single day. You made it so that I could start to shine my own light. What is a greater gift than that.

I am forever honoured to be your friend. To hold your hand.

Happiest of solar returns, @seekingwilder by @medastroxjess

This is the invitation to take the night-sea journey within, to direct your light back onto yourself, the Sun, and to go down into the dark because that is how the light is remade.
The descent is the condition of the return.

The full moon at 8 degrees lights both ends of one axis. Cancer, the waters, the stomach, the soft membranes, being held. Capricorn, the structure, the bones, the knees, holding form.

The Moon sits in detriment here, feeling placed where it cannot soften. So the water has nowhere to go but up, into the head, the eyes.

The body weeps the need the mouth will not say.

Cancer, you have never had a wall that stays steady against the tide. A hard look, a room that seems to turn, a friend who is going through a hard time before you’ve said hello. No matter what event shifts reality, there is the inevitable tide that flows in.

You read a room in your gut before your mind has even registered what is happening. You carry the weather in your stomach. You hold water for days after something you never once said out loud, the fluid sitting in your chest, heavy and tender with it.

The body keeps what the heart let in, and yours has done it since before you had words for any of it.

#medicalastrology #astrology #cancerseason by @medastroxjess

Hey Capricorn, Cancer season has you in a chokehold, because this is the one season you cannot outclimb.

You feel it because Cancer is your opposite sign. When the sun crosses there, it is as far from you as it gets all year. That opposition is the whole reason this season has your name on it.
It gives you two paths to take, both of them unbearable. Keep moving forward and the path ahead is a threat: unrest, illness, depression. Go back down and the descent feels like a critical failure you never once anticipated.

Capricorn, you never go back down a mountain. Not when tired, not when hungry, not even long past the moment you’ve clearly lost the argument and keep fighting anyway. There is always the override.

That’s the thing people get wrong about you. It isn’t just the persistence, the build, refine, repeat, that sits at the core of you. It’s the override. You will push yourself up the mountain whether you feel like it or not, whether it’s yours or not, because how you feel never enters the equation. To do so would feel like an indulgence you have not earned. You trust the override more than your feelings, more than rest, more than the people who tell you you’re hiding in work to avoid the rest of your life, more than your own body. Effort answers whenever you call it, because it always has. Your whole life, you have known that whatever the circumstances, you can and will - override - yourself through. (Continued in comments)

Even in the Mercury retrograde shadow zone, I’ve never felt such clarity about the things that don’t need intellectual intelligence. The flying thmedicalastrology #cancerseasonof life, intellectual, emotional, nostalgic, future-focused or otherwise, have slowed to an inward flow. It’s almost as if everything else has fallen away and the deeper message comes through: now is when the subconscious has things it wants to say, things you may have missed.

In our waking life, we filter our experiences by deleting, distorting and generalising out of necessity rather than curiosity. With the amount of information our senses take in through a day, it would be impossible to be a capable human without these processes. The conscious mind can only handle a tiny slice of it at once, and what decides which bits get kept and which get cut is your filters: your beliefs, values, memories, language, your past. Two people stand in the same room and walk out with two different rooms.

This filtering, this storing, this deciding what we keep, that’s the Moon’s job. Cancer isn’t the process but the climate. It’s about holding, nourishment, safety, the home we make of the body and the people in it, the instinct to gather what matters close and keep it safe. But the Moon rules Cancer, so when we step into this season we step into the Moon’s domain, and everything the Moon governs comes closer to the surface: the subconscious, the held, the things the body has been quietly keeping for us. That’s why now, of all times, the filing cabinet starts to open on its own.

In Gemini season, we can look to Sagittarius to help us find meaning, healing and deeper understanding of Gemini and how to support Gemini-ruled areas of the body thanks to Medical Astrology. If you’re not Gemini or Sagittarius, this still applies! We all have Gemini and Sagittarius ruled areas of the body.

I was doomscrolling on TikTok last week and stumbled across a medical astrology post that made me stop. Heavily redacted version is in the reel because i don’t want to endorse the content other than to point out it was grossly incorrect on many levels.

The comments said it all. “This is so negative.” “I do not claim this negativity in my life.” Hell yes.

So a few things -

Medical astrology does not diagnose. When reading your natal chart, I’m looking at seeds that may or may not come into fruition depending on the astrological weather you’re moving through. It’s not a prediction, it just doesn’t work like that.

Sharing info with a caption of “That resonated with me” is not proof that it is true. When a post lists half the human diseases and mental health conditions that exist, of course people will see themselves.

It also strips out constitutional context completely. Two people can have Jupiter in the fourth and physically manifest it in completely different ways.

And the houses thing. We do use a few in medical astrology, the sixth being a big one, but signs are what rule the body. Throwing out “diabetes if you have X in the second” is just not how this works.
Could honestly talk about this forever.

There are some really amazing medical astrologers who I would love to highlight as people who share incredible empowering knowledge 🙏 @judithhillastrologyacademy @holistichealthastrology @toombstalk @astrologyofhealth
