So, what is dry needling? 💉

Dry needling is a modality where we use thin, sterile needles to target specific muscles and areas of soft tissue that may be contributing to pain, tightness, or movement limitations.

Dry needling isn’t acupuncture, even though we use the same needles. Dry needling is a form of Western medicine targeting specific areas of tissue that are causing pain.

As physical therapists, we use dry needling as part of an individualized treatment plan—not as a quick fix. It is a tool we combine with hands-on therapy, targeted exercises, and movement training to address the bigger picture.

Why might your PT recommend it?
• Muscle tightness or trigger points/”knots”
• Certain types of persistent pain
• Limited mobility
• Muscle-related movement restrictions

Your body is unique, and your treatment should be too. If pain or tightness is keeping you from the activities you love, let’s find out what’s really causing the problem and create a plan to get you moving again.

So… what makes Medford PT different? 👇

After 12+ years in physical therapy, these are 3 things I really believe in:

✨ Your hour is actually YOUR hour. One-on-one, personalized care — no rushing you through a generic program.

✨ We look at the whole body. Where you hurt isn’t always the whole story. We can look at movement, strength, mobility, breathing, posture, and everything in between.

✨ More freedom to individualize your care. As a private-pay practice, we’re not limited by insurance restrictions on what we can work on or how we structure your care.

If you’ve been dealing with something that just isn’t getting better, I offer a complimentary 20-minute full-body diagnostic to help figure out what’s going on and whether Medford PT is the right fit for you.

And good news 👀 — I just opened new Tuesday daytime appointments!

📍 454 Salem St, Medford, MA

Come see what PT can feel like when it’s actually personalized to you.

An hour with your physical therapist isn’t just more time. It’s better information.

At Medford PT, we believe your therapist should have enough time to actually watch, listen, and respond.
With a full hour of one-on-one care, your therapist can observe how you move — not just for a few seconds, but throughout different movements and activities. This gives us the chance to ask the right questions, understand what you’re feeling, and see how your body responds to each treatment and exercise.

This means that we can modify activities in real time, changing our plan based on what will work best for you, rather than simply following a predetermined routine. That’s the difference between simply completing a treatment session and having a therapist who is actively thinking, assessing, and adapting throughout your entire visit.

One hour. One therapist. One-on-one attention.

A wonderful afternoon talking all things pelvic floor at @reimagym

Thank you to everyone who came to Pelvic Floor 101: Understanding Your Core, Pelvic Floor & Whole-Body Connection and for bringing such thoughtful questions, curiosity, and openness to the conversation.

The pelvic floor is one of those topics that can sometimes feel uncomfortable or even a little shame-filled to talk about. One of my favorite parts of the workshop was creating a space where we could simply ask questions, learn about our bodies, and talk about pelvic health without judgment.

We talked about breathing, pressure management, core and pelvic floor coordination, bladder and bowel function, movement, pelvic organ support, and how all of these systems are connected.

And apparently, there are MANY more questions to answer.

A few ideas that came up for future workshops:
• Pelvic floor + sleep
• Sleeping positions
• Low back + pelvic floor
• Breathing and the pelvic floor
• More practical ways to connect with and understand your core

Thank you to Mike and Theresa at Reimagym for the space and to everyone who showed up and made this such a meaningful afternoon.

I’m already looking forward to doing more of these!

If you’d like to learn more about pelvic health or movement, you can book a complimentary 20-minute full-body diagnostic with me at Medford-PT.com.

What if getting better didn’t have to mean spending months at PT?

At Medford PT, our one-on-one model means your therapist is focused on you. Your unique goals, your movement, and how your body responds from session to session. With careful assessment, individualized treatment, and tailored exercises, we make a plan that works for you.

We pay attention, make adjustments, and progress your treatment as you progress.

The result? More focused care, quicker recovery, and a program designed to help you get back to doing what you love.

You bring the goal. We build the plan. You keep moving forward.

Pelvic Floor 101 is coming to Medford! 🩷

I’m so excited to be partnering with @reimagym for an interactive one-hour workshop about something we don’t talk about nearly enough: pelvic health.

Pelvic Floor 101: Understanding Your Core, Pelvic Floor & Whole-Body Connection

📅 Saturday, September 26
⏰ 1:00–2:00 PM
📍 Reimagym, Salem Street, Medford

We’ll talk about:
• What the pelvic floor actually is (and why it’s about so much more than Kegels!)
• How breathing, your core, hips, spine, and pelvic floor work together
• Leaking, urgency, pelvic pressure, pelvic pain, constipation, and other common symptoms
• Pelvic floor health and exercise—including lifting, running, jumping, and postpartum return to movement
• Simple breathing, movement, and coordination exercises you can try during the workshop

Most importantly, this is a space to learn, ask questions, and feel more comfortable talking about pelvic health. You do not need to have a diagnosis or a specific problem to benefit from this workshop.

My goal is that you leave thinking:

“I learned something about my body today, I feel less intimidated by pelvic health, and I know when PT could help.”

🩷 Notice. Breathe. Coordinate. Don’t just squeeze.

More details coming soon!
