Welcoming the summer season with the next episode of the Media Sutra Love Story. Check it out and drop us a DM with your thoughts and feels.

In Episode 2, our lovers’ adventures help them discover their voices and medium for expression. Taij is off to Hampshire College which feels far away from the South Bronx. A 96% white student body and constant questions about her identity inspire this self-described introvert to explore her Indo-Caribbean roots and express her true self. Manuavaskar pays homage to his family’s legacy of sacrifice and social justice, and voices his vision of being an artist and storyteller. Unbeknownst to his parents, their stories light the way for him to boldly pursue his purpose and passion through filmmaking.

🔥 IT’S GETTING HOT IN HERE 🔥 This is the episode everyone has been asking about. While the first two episodes spoke to the shaping of our founders as artists, activists, and entrepreneurs, Episode 3 heats up as they catch feelings for each other while pushing the boundaries of their creativity in community, and guided by mentors.

Twenty years later, @taijkumarie, @manauvaskar and the @mediasutrainc team embody what it means to center their creativity and purpose. Our next newsletter highlights Media Sutra’s recent work through reflections from members of our team of BIPOC creative entrepreneurs who join forces to live a purpose driven life through an ethos of love, in the spirit of interdependence, and while engaging principled struggle.

Sign up for our newsletter (#linkinbio) and stay tuned for episodes 4 & 5 coming this fall. We’ll learn more about our founders’ love story, their journey of building Media Sutra, and what they are calling in for the future.

Who taught you how to love? And what are we still learning? 💚

For more than two decades, we’ve been making art and creating change alongside Piper Anderson—a writer, performer, and artivist whose work brings storytelling, healing, and justice into the same room.

This weekend, she brings WHO TAUGHT YOU HOW TO LOVE? to the Hudson Valley as part of the Newburgh Fringe Festival. Written and performed by Piper and directed by Wéma Ragophala, this poetic journey moves through Billie Holiday, ’90s hip-hop, house parties, heartbreak, Black feminist wisdom, and ancestral legacies.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re holding questions about the love we inherit, the patterns we interrupt, and the care we want to make possible. Art offers a place to gather around these questions—to listen, feel, and imagine how we might love differently.

Through interdisciplinary performance and community storytelling, Piper explores belonging, memory, and the transformation of harm. Her work invites us to bear witness—to ourselves and one another—and discover what becomes possible when our stories are heard and held.

Hudson Valley family, come experience her artistry. Let’s fill the room with love.

😍 Look at the beautiful and brilliant people coming together on Oct 6 for this conversation 🌱🔥

A whole ecosystem of people has been dreaming, organizing, resourcing, designing—and now building—the Webatuck Valley Farm Collaborative.

Together, we’ve already raised $6 MILLION toward our $15M vision. Seeds are rooted and dreams are taking flight. Now we’re expanding the circle.

On October 6, we’re gathering for MOVE MONEY. GROW WORLDS: a Reparative Capital Learning + Resource Exchange to explore what becomes possible when we move resources differently—and then actually practice it.

And y’all…the people joining us 💚 Jessica, Veronica. Elspeth. Naima are folks I love, trust, learn from, and organize alongside. Between us are decades of experimenting with how we move money, reclaim wealth, share power, heal our relationships to resources, tend land, and build what comes next.

We cannot wait to merge these worlds together. COME THROUGH! There will be many pathways to grow this dream with us.

🌱 GIVE — Move philanthropic resources into our $15M capital campaign.

🌱 INVEST — Move savings or investment capital into the WVFC Local Impact CD with Walden Mutual @waldenmutual and help finance the build while earning interest.

🌱 CONNECT — Open a door. Introduce us to people and institutions with resources to move.

🌱 ORGANIZE — Bring WVFC into your donor circle, family, board, investment committee, or community.

🌱 AMPLIFY — Share this. Invite your people. Help us grow the circle.

You don’t need to have millions to help move millions. Bring your curiosity and imagination.

$6M has taken root. Now let’s grow the rest, together.

🌱 MOVE MONEY. GROW WORLDS.

Come through and harvest with us at our Roots of Abundance Konbit Day on Saturday, September 26th where you’ll have an opportunity to bask in the bounty of our food forest and take home produce from other local farms.

Our Konbit Days are inspired by the Haitian Creole tradition of mutual aid. These gatherings annually bring together over 100 BIPOC, immigrant, and working-class community members annually to plant, harvest, weed, eat and build together in a spirit of collective care and shared labor.

This family-friendly gathering is an opportunity to connect with the land, one another, and the abundance of the season

The day will explore regenerative farming practices, herbal creations, tea tastings, hands–on learning, and an introduction to WILDSEEDs Learning Grove.

Come ready to learn, create, nourish and celebrate together.

Space is limited for this event. Please use this registration link in our to secure your spot today!

Harvesting flowers, healing, and world-building at WILDSEED @wildseedcommunity and Rock Steady @rocksteadyfarm 🌺🌱

Today we gathered to bless WILDSEED’s historic barn before its transformation begins—remembering those who paved the way, releasing what could keep us from our purpose, and reclaiming the vision that brought us here.

We are dreaming into a place where land, food, art, healing, justice, and joy come together—a place that nourishes our communities now and becomes an inheritance for generations to come.

Having my daughter beside me made that future feel especially close.

Before we build, we bless. Before we move forward, we remember💧🪴 💗

Check out what we’re up to @webatuckfarmers and be part of the magic 💫

Every community has a story.

We’re helping Woodbury tell its story through art.

Thank you to Arts Mid-Hudson, the Town of Woodbury, the Office of Assemblymember Christopher Eachus, and everyone who believed in this vision. by @mediasutrainc

Conflict is inevitable. The question is not whether we’ll experience conflict, but who we become in its wake.

Repair is a practice. Over the last few years, we’ve sat with a question that shape our reparative and creative work: How do we transform conflict through sustained practice as a pathway for world building?

Too often, we spend our energy replaying old conversations, seeking closure that may never come, proving our pain, or waiting for someone else to change.

What if healing asks something different of us?

What if conflict is not only an invitation to accountability, but also an invitation to creativity, imagination, and transformation?

We are sharing a few practices and reflections that have emerged through two decades of movement work, storytelling, healing justice, and lived experience.

Swipe through and let us know:

✨ What helps you move from rupture toward repair?

Happy Spring Equinox ☀️💚☀️ Now is the time to create like our lives depend on it—because they do.

Artists, storytellers, cultural workers—we are more than responders to crisis. We are architects of what comes next. So today, we ask:

✨ What are you tending this season?
✨ What are you ready to create, even now?
✨ Who are you building with?

This is the energy of the equinox—to choose, with intention, what we grow.
