A lot has happened since I closed my solo show BEWILDERNESS last spring. I recently found remnants of the beginning of this body of work, including a postcard where I first wrote the title “bewilderness” while being inspired in a talk at @dukechapel by Irish poet and theologian @padraigotuama

I also found this writing about what BEWILDERNESS means to me as a practice:

“BEWILDERNESS is surrendering to not knowing, to what is not yet known. It is a practice of approaching both inner and external life with a kind of humility, from a position of "show me, tell me." It is shifting away from "I know, this is" to "what is not yet known? What might this be?" It is the practice of surrender that precedes discovery, the formative ingredients for experiencing awe and wonder.”

As we enter into the season of darkness, where it can feel hard to see, I share these reminders about our unique and divine capacities to explore and receive, even when things are not clear.

I also want to express more gratitude. Making BEWILDERNESS wasn’t always easy and living in bewilderness as a practice also isn’t always easy. A lot of people helped and help me. I’m very grateful for all the inspiration and help I received from curator Laura Ritchie and collaborator and photographer @brobeas Also, a deep thank you to exhibition helpers @the_art_chose_me and @shotbynori   
And a very special thank you to @kenrumble for all the many forms of care, support, and help— with BEWILDERNESS and with my art practice in general.  

Lastly, thank you to my friends, community and to everyone who attended BEWILDERNESS, wrote about it, talked about it, bought art, and felt something when interacting with this work. I appreciate you all.

The opening for @boardinghouse_arts felt like coming home. Thank you @shirletteammons and Laura for creating this gorgeous space for all of us 💐🥂😭💖

Two of my sculptures are in the opening group show "Art Lives Here" and they're spaced ten years apart. The sculpture on the pedestal is from my first show in Durham in 2015 at the Carrack and the pink wall sculpture from my 2025 show at PORTAL. It was a joy to see them next to each other and to notice synchronicities that I hadn't articulated to myself. And especially to do that alongside so many beloved artists including @itssabataj and @antoinesart . 🙌🏻

Thank you to Chicago's @womanmadegallery and curator @nirmal.raja for presenting a lovely exhibition and including my work. I appreciated all the tangible materiality and body-based experiences on display in the show.

As Nirmal wrote in the curatorial statement, "It is not surprising that in this political moment of vulnerability as a nation highlighted by the fragility of the self, the body becomes a site for expression."

The exhibition is up through March 28, so if you're in Chicago check it out.

Self portrait with the moon. In the snowy, icy woods. I saw flocks of birds covering the sky in waves moving towards evening, many deer with bushy tails, and a hurrying human in shorts (😳), plus heard a beaver slap its tail at me. Grateful. 🙌🏻💖 by @meg.stein.art

These limited edition ceramic sculptures hang on the wall and are super easy to install. You can hang them up using one screw-- each sculpture is mounted onto wood and has a key hole slot in the back.

Prices for each sculpture of these sculptures range from $500-$800, for editions of 5. Purchasing plans are always available, where you can pay a deposit and then pay the remainder any way you want spread out over a period of time up to six months.
