A personally important piece made during my MA that helped me overcome my fear of painting in red. Created using innumerable tubes of oil, including the last few shades inherited from a great artist in my old studio.

Excited to be showing a painting in ‘Daydream Pilgrim’ next weekend! Set within the quietly remarkable setting of an unassuming parish church, works by thirteen contemporary artists will be shown alongside its extraordinary collection.

Huge thanks to @jonathanmichaelray for asking me to take part!

A work that I keep coming back to, and part of my MA degree show last September.
A labour of love and scraping and scratching.
Wish I had recorded how many layers were added to this - a future note to self.

The first work to emerge out of a new process that’s gradually developed in the studio. I’ve been swept up by the notion of change tied to The Year of The Horse, and I’m here for it ✨ by @megan____rea
