Two luckless days spent trying to make this puppy print on a press only to circle back to elbow grease in the end. What a difference. And it didn’t take as long as I thought. Thank you @sharon_lee_print for your excellent advice #handprinted #colourwoodblockprint #magenta #feelingcocky by @megrahaim

We did it!! Loops of Perception exhibition up and rolling along and our full day workshop, "See It, Say It, Generate It", saw over 250 people have a go at testing their interpretative drawing skills against an AI model. What a joy working with these ladies every time @lucieldridge @ninaninaninat @danielamihai1, (sorry Daniela for not picturing you). And nothing says a job well done like a glorious post workshop train feast on the sloooooow train back to London. #loopsofperception #roboticvision #SOTSEF by @megrahaim

"Other People's Gardens", a CMYK woodblock print. Come see it (and maybe me) in Loops of Perception, an exhibition @visionintheloop running from 28 Feb to 13 April at University of Southampton's Hartley Library Gallery #cmyk #woodcut #infrared #printmaking by @megrahaim

YELL-OH!!! Halfway there today. On the bus home I noticed something smelled flammable and I think it might have been me. Sorry bus people. I was printing 🎉 #printmaking #cmyk #woodcut #infrared #moreinkmorepressure by @megrahaim

LOOPS OF PERCEPTION Workshop 3 - At the end of May, we were back at WSA for some River Itchen on-site testing and related activities. See us sealing boxes, test-dunking @lucieldridge ’s NOC-yellow “Cheese Log” housing, Esther tying knots girl guide-style, scouting the riverbed (thanks to Ian's @demondawson “Accretor”), and having a post-dunk AI-play with test data… thanks to Sadie @sotonastrodome and Ian for sharing what they came up with! #loopsofperception #roboticvision #gothlog #cheeselog #accretor #theloop #transdisciplinary @uni_southampton_wsa @uni_southampton taken in Winchester School of Art by @megrahaim

LOOPS OF PERCEPTION Workshop 2 - sensor visualisation, Pi programming, dry housings test-dunked in buckets (introducing “Goth Log”), fossil scanning, Snappy the Lobster, and the REAL Boaty McBoatface! Special thanks to workshop participants Esther and Martina for a fascinating behind-the-scenes look around the National Oceanography Centre #NOC #gothlog #boatymcboatface #theloop #roboticvision #loopsofperception @uni_southampton_wsa @uni_southampton taken in University of Southampton Oceanography by @megrahaim

On 21 May, we kicked off our LOOPS OF PERCEPTION workshop series to explore <<how AI affects the looping relationship between robotic and human vision>> through drawing as transcription, speculative ekphrasis, reading the image, talking shop about how each of us interpret images of distant things, testing how AI interprets those interpretations, planning a DIY underwater sensing device (or two? or three?) Thanks to the Web Science Institute for supporting this project! #theloop #transdisciplinary #roboticvision @uni_southampton_wsa @uni_southampton taken in Winchester School of Art by @megrahaim

Big, gigantic, humongous thanks to @lucieldridge and @ninaninaninat for inviting me to read from my chapter, "Discrete Accidents of Photogrammetry", at the launch of their most excellent book, Robotic Vision and Virtual Interfacings: Seeing, Sensing, Shaping, available from @edinburghuniversitypress ..................................................................... It was so cool to present alongside the awesome work of other contributors, @kate_fahey @nicola_plant @demondawson @dr_paul_reilly and to speak with the generous group of folks who turned out to the Dana Research Centre and Library of the @sciencemuseum to celebrate 🤖 👀 ..................................................................... #roboticvision #sciencemuseum #photogrammetry #surveillantimage #booklaunch @visionintheloop by @megrahaim
