A throwback to the very first Twoubadou Night at Café Erzulie 🇭🇹✨

We took over jazz night and turned it into a celebration of Caribbean rhythm - A journey into Twoubadou.

This genre emerged from Haitian laborers in Cuba who were influenced by the local guajiro music style. Crossing borders, these melodies made their way back home, blending with Haitian méringue to create the Twoubadou sound we know today.

Hosted & Organized by @mehkinmoves & @frankxter_ _ the night featured unforgettable performances by @lotjannyc and @rasinokan , bringing that history to life in Brooklyn and reminding us how culture continues to move and evolve. 🎶

Stay connected for the next one. 💛 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @mehkinmoves

After weeks of hibernation, @byblakawout and I finally ventured out to the @soulsoireeco Monologue Slam! It’s been incredible seeing this event grow and flourish, with the talent leveling up every time. It’s so important to support actors of color and creating safe spaces where their talent can shine and be recognized. Can’t wait to catch the next one in May! 🎊

This year was truly a reminder that we can plan all we want, but life has a way of showing us a different path. While I had big dreams and expectations, what unfolded was even more meaningful—an unexpected journey of reconnecting with myself. And I’m incredibly proud of the moments I’ve been able to embrace along the way.

✨ This beautiful rebrand and new chapter
✨ The success of our 2nd Annual Creative Toolkit with @nyc_hub, @coffeeupliftspeople, @hrblock, @omilegal, @levieuxjerry,@thekayanova and @teyaknapp
✨ Producing @mbodywell ‘s first event—such a milestone
✨ Meaningful conversations with @thecityofjules & @cat.lantigua, @adanne.co, @lizsbookbar
✨ Writing my very first interview for @thecreativeindependent —what a dream!
✨ Taking time to rest and recharge, and being grateful for those who checked in with love and care

It’s been a year of growth, learning, and surprises, and I’m beyond thankful for the journey. Here’s to continuing to evolve, one step at a time 🏆 taken in New York, New York by @mehkinmoves

Missed our conversation at @adanne.co this summer? No worries—you can catch our conversation on What You Can Learn about Burnout on @thecreativeindependent today!

This conversation with @cat.lantigua was such a full-circle moment. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and knowing Cat for almost a decade has only deepened my appreciation for how she leads with authenticity in everything she does. Her book? Exactly what I needed when I read it—filled with wisdom and lessons that resonate deeply.

Thank you, @adanne.co , for collaborating with me this summer and for the incredible work you continue to do in our community 📚🧡

Cat, thank you for being you—for sharing your story and paving the way for others to thrive.🫂

And to @thecreativeindependent , thank you for creating the space for this conversation and for the amazing work you do for creatives around the world. Cheers to more conversations, connections, and collaborations ahead! 💫
