12 years with my most perfect Mama girl. Abandoned with her seven kittens in a garden next to a restaurant in Hollywood, @erikpreston scooped up the whole gang and brought them home. All of her kids were adopted and she has spent the last 12 years getting on-demand cuddles, eating lots (too much) of good food, and snuggling with tree roots (that’s a new one). She was the best surprise and continues to be one of the best parts of my life. #adoptdontshop❤️ #adopt #catsofinstagram by @melanieamullen

The long-awaited 4K release of FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2 from @redshirtpictures and @synapsefilmsofficial is almost here but you have a chance to be one of the first to experience this new print on the big screen all while supporting a great cause. @thespookypictureshow and @cinemasalem are teaming up to support our dear friend, Erich Gamache, as he fights cancer. All ticket sale proceeds will go directly to Erich and his family to help ease some of the financial burden that cancer treatment can impose on families. The evening will also feature raffles for special memorabilia and items, with all raffle proceeds benefiting the Gamache family. Exclusive poster prints created specifically for the event will also be available for purchase. May 23 at 8:30pm! Ticket link in my bio. #cancersucks taken in Cinema Salem by @melanieamullen

I’m back with more terrible food photos. I’ve been feeling brunchy lately but my wallet may as well be in a creek so I made a #vegan tofu scramble and roasted potatoes at home using recipes from @loveandlemons and a sourdough toast recipe by me. It took me forever because I am very slow at chopping onions but it did yield about three breakfasts worth of food! #breakfast #brunch #homecooking taken in Flavortown by @melanieamullen

Back in the kitchen where I belong (because I’m a woman, get it?). Maple glazed tofu by @consciouschris, garlic sautéed broccoli by @loveandlemons, and brown rice. #vegan #homecooking #tofu taken in Studio City by @melanieamullen

I’ve been sitting with this for over a day and I have nothing, still. A core face of my adolescence is gone. Sending my best to all who knew and loved him. No one deserves this. #jamesvanderbeek #dawsonscreek #varsityblues #fcancer by @melanieamullen

This is 38. Another hard year but still looking fine as hell. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. And to those who didn’t — may your home be overtaken by a poltergeist. taken in Studio City by @melanieamullen

14 years of being Harvey’s mom. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. He is my greatest joy, the biggest pest, and the ultimate mama’s boy. Harvey was estimated to be about 2.5-3 years old when I adopted him but I feel like I’ve been his mom since the beginning of time, two souls whose bond was written in the stars. Happy anniversary to us, my sweet Cookie. #adopt #adoptdontshop❤️ #cats #cats_of_instagram #catmom by @melanieamullen

Another series completed. What a lucky bunch we are to have gotten to share the planet with Bea Arthur.

All six seasons of MAUDE are currently available to stream on @tubi, albeit, not always in correct episodic order. #Maude #BeaArthur #popculture #series #television @televisionacad by @melanieamullen

11 years with the most beautiful girl in the world, my sweet Mama. I’ve never met a cat with such a loving and forgiving demeanor. She is always ready to cuddle, no matter what she’s doing. All I have to do is lie down on the couch and call her and she will magically appear. I’m so lucky that she randomly materialized into the universe one day and chose me and @erikpreston to be her parents. Also wishing a happy #gotchaday to her babies who made me a cat grandma. #adoptdontshop #russianblue #catstagram by @melanieamullen

Finally saw Karate Kid Legends. It was pretty much what I expected EXCEPT that my beloved Joshua Jackson had a much bigger role in the film than what was advertised. The film doesn’t need to exist and the big karate tournament at the end is more aligned with the final fight in Rocky V than an actual organized event but I felt it was a decent movie that could have benefitted from a slightly longer runtime to flesh out the villains a bit. I thought Ben Wang was a great addition to the universe and at the end of the day, I enjoyed it. I’m glad to see Jackie Chan get another shot at the KK universe and Ralph Macchio is always fun. Also, anytime Joshua Jackson is shirtless will result in me spending money. And that final scene 🍕🥰 #karatekid by @melanieamullen
