It's Legacy Sunday!

This weekend I was blessed with another amazing opportunity to be a panelist & vendor at another successful book event in Atlanta. Hosted by the Nu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., it was a wonderful chance to connect & network with a group of like-minded women who are also aspiring & inspiring authors sharing their own powerful stories.

My own story of surviving foster care & breaking the cycle of abuse is why I do the work I do today. Like Olivia Pope, I'm a fixer. I wear the white hat. I go over a cliff for children & families. No "Scandal" here. I'm a (School) Social Worker making the world a better place one child & family at a time.

I was inspired to be surrounded by so many incredible women, each with a different story to tell, yet all with an important message.

From college classmates to published authors… what a journey. 💛

There’s something incredibly special about watching the people you started with continue to walk in purpose.

It was such a joy reconnecting with my college classmate @melanielynn615 at @blackwritersweekend Years ago, we were simply students chasing our dreams. Today, we’re both authors using our stories to inspire, heal, and change lives.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is that we’re also contributors in an anthology published by another one of our college classmates. To witness each of us using our gifts in different ways is a reminder that your journey may take unexpected turns, but purpose has a way of bringing it all together.

Never underestimate the seeds you plant or the relationships you build along the way. One day, they may become part of your greatest chapters.

Here’s to friendship, legacy, and the power of telling our stories authentically.

5 yeas later & we're back where it all started from with some who witnessed when we said I do. We've been celebrating since we srrived here on Thursday. I'm rarely at a loss for words & today I am. Just know how much I love you. Thank you for all we've experienced together and all we still have yet to experience. Thank you to Stephanie for reminding us to always remember why we fell in love & what we love abput one another. As we continue navigating life's challenges with our "different color sunglasses & hearing aids" (iykyk).while remembering to love & respect each othe I thank you for loving not only me unconditionally, but also Adriel. It's Thankful Thursday & this post is two-fold. It comes to say thank you for all the love & suppprt at my book signing in VA. this past Sunday. While everyone couldn't attend, I was honored & blessed to see those who did including some of Adriel's friends & Sanford's clients. Special shout-out to the hostess with the mostest, my soror & one of my best friends @so_relle_va & the 2nd half of the set-up crew @mrobi12284 along with both of their daughters.

Then, what better way to follow-up a successful book signing than to celebrate 🥳 🎉 🎊 🍾 my birthday the very next day. The pre-game celebration started with my crew in Va. on Sunday night & continued when I got back home to Atlanta on Monday. Not to mention, I was treated to not one, but 2 ice cream cakes. Lol. Thank you for all the birthday shout outs, texts, phone calls & gifts. Every kind word, gesture & sacrifice is appreciated more than you know. #Blessed, #Highlyfavored by @melanielynn615
