Sometimes God blesses you with people who walk through every valley and celebrate every mountaintop with you. Almost 20 years ago, Katie and her family entered my life and quickly became family.

This weekend, we celebrated Mr. Mike and Team Rowland’s final ride and 10 years of dedication to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Through their work with the Michael J. Fox Foundation, they’ve raised $2.3 million toward a cure, closing this chapter with their biggest ride yet.

We spent the weekend laughing, crying, celebrating, and cheering them on alongside so many people who’ve supported them through this journey. Mike, Stacy, Katie, and Maggie you are so loved! You truly are an inspiration and example of unwavering faith and dedication.

Row, what an honor it is to be your friend.

Last year Coach Melissa Denson achieved her 300th career victory and over the weekend in Alabama she claimed her 300th JA win. In her nine seasons, she has guided JA to 5 State Championships and led the team to the Title Game every single year winning now 304 games as the Lady Raider Head Coach. Congratulations, Coach Denson, on another amazing achievement!

Great day for the Lady Raiders finishing 10-1 as a program between varsity and middle school.

I couldn’t be more proud of varsity for their grit to get to the championship match being down 5-12 in the 3rd set to come back and win 17-15. They finished 6-0 to win the Cavalier Classic.

Our middle school group mixed with 6th-8th graders went up against big schools and finished 2nd in Hattiesburg. These young Raiders are working hard and improving so much!

Highlight of the day was seeing one of my precious seniors step foot on the court for the first time in a jersey after an ACL tear. She’s been the biggest support system all spring and summer and it was the best thing to celebrate her victory today.

Shoutout to my amazing assistants who pour hours into these girls. Amanda, Cornelius, Krish…THANK YOU! by @meldenson4

Tomorrow begins Year 16 of coaching, and it’s hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by. I’m incredibly grateful to spend each season doing something I love for a community that means so much.

I’m thankful for a staff that pours into our athletes with genuine care, and for players who continue to embrace every challenge with hard work and a heart for each other.

As we begin a new season, my prayer is for our entire program that God would watch over each player for a healthy and safe season.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Go Raiders!! 🩵🐺🐬
