Happy 6th birthday to our ta’ahine Tonga! The hiva loi is real lol but we love that she is always trying to learn new things. Suseti is our beautiful, brave, creative, cheerful, goofy, and talented girl. The best big sister, an easy maker of friends, Daddy’s princess, and our #1 helper with pretty much everything. We love our Zeti girl to infinity.

In a lot of my mommy conversations lately I have referred to this phase of motherhood as being “in the trenches.” So when I scrolled past this song, it hit me hard.

I was asked if I have postpartum depression and what that feels like for me. I said I think I do. Maybe I don’t. Idk. I just feel off. Like I just can’t get a hang of things. Like I can’t find my groove/rhythm with the kids this time. Which is usually really easy for me cuz my parenting is pretty lax and I’m just chillin for the most part lol

Maybe it’s the back to back babies, this new bigga body lol or a combination of the two. I see moms with more kids do more with back to back kids and think wow. Goals. But I know I can do it. I have the best most helpful partner @kava_leka who is super hands on and loves me & kids who also love and are patient with me. Especially when I am short and tired with them. Which is all the time.

Anyways, I am beyond blessed. So like the song, I really do just need to slow down. I really am doing fine. I really can’t do everything and right now and that’s fine. I only get them this young for a short time and I am going to miss this. I’m quite dramatic and already miss it! Lol They might give me Hell when they’re teenagers, so let me enjoy them and soak it all up now. So no more saying “in the trenches” for me. These have been and are going to be “the best years.”

3rd Annual Friends Trip was a hit!

9 families. 32 kids. Lots of swimming, games, competitions, exploring St. George, and our own version of “Million Dollar Secret.”

Such a blast making memories with some of our favorite people. Somehow it gets better every year.

Zeti goes to Kindergarten!! 🍎✏️📓

I’ve always said I would homeschool my kids! But Zeti has been begging to go to “real school” ever since we moved to Alaska. Especially with her big cousin Moana.

Well thanks to her baby brother Siliva, her prayers have been answered! Real school it is!! Even Moana transferred over.

The pencil on her board is empty because when we asked her what she wants to be when she grows up she said, “A teenager.” Oarrrr naurrrrr

I am gonna pat myself on the back. Bc this postpartum recovery has been a series of unfortunate events🤣🤣 another prayer for a 6-7 pound baby denied again! But he came out pretty perfect (to me) so I can’t be mad!!

Chayce is the most “selfish” dad. He never wants to share his kids. Doesn’t care if his parents want them in UT. Or if my family wants them in Alaska. If there’s a wedding, funeral, or graduation out of town and he can’t come, his answer is always no. So know if you see my kids and I without Chayce just know it was 100% against his will. And he is definitely having the worst time of his life. 🤣🤣

But that’s what makes him the best daddy. He loves & adores his kids. Everything they do is amazing to him. They may cry when daddy says they can’t go…and that’s cuz daddy’s sad when mom says they can. I’m just this super hot lady that follows them around. The only time he’s okay to be away from them is to go on a date with the hot lady. 💀💀

Grateful to have a teti that is just as obsessed, (if not MORE) with our kids as I am. He makes my role as a mom WAY easier. And provides in every way we need.

Happy Father’s Day to the best most obsessed dad. Glad I went half on 3 (almost to 4!) kids with you boo.

Just wanted to take this time to introduce myself as one of the creators of Wild Ferns! My name is Mele Afu!! I was born and raised in Alaska. Came from a large Tongan family that loved to gather and loved to center our gatherings around food! I am so excited to be starting this business venture with my Māori counterpart Shanon!
