h, you are truly incredible 🥹

h man making my biggest dreams come true this week. after not having a lot of time to practice after capital challenge due to school and other commitments, h walked me into the alltech arena for my first time and laid down a solid round to take home 2nd out of 32 in the 16-17 equitation sec. a over fences, and made the top 12 flat callback but was just out of the ribbons as we both got a little tired towards the end. he then came in the next day and took home 3rd in the 16-17 equitation sec. a over fences, while also being the only one to place top 3 in both over fences classes in our division. then to my amazement, we were reserve champion overall in the division! finally, we came into the ring again this morning and marched around my first hamel nhs medal final scoring a 76.25 due to an unfortunate swap to end up 32nd out of 186, just 1.25 points away from making the top 24 cutoff!

words cannot express how grateful i am to have such an incredible horse as my partner. even more, i have a great family, great friends, and a great barn family who cheered me on from both near and far. this week was definitely a fever dream and i am so incredibly lucky to have so many amazing people to celebrate with, thank you all ❤️

I am so excited to officially announce my verbal commitment to Delaware State University’s D1 Equestrian Team and the decision to further my education at DSU and its associated Honors Program. Words cannot express how grateful I am to Coach Ridgely and @delstateequestrian for granting me the opportunity to represent such an amazing team. I am also so thankful for Michael, Toni, and the whole @bridlewoodfarmsinc team for teaching me everything I know, and to Karen Healey who took on training me in the equitation starting in 2020. Finally, I am endlessly in debt to my family and friends who have supported me financially, physically, and emotionally since the day I started riding. GO HORNETS ❤️🐝🩵 by @melissaackereq

couldn’t have asked for a better week to close out me and gino’s time together with only podium finishes in all 4 of our classes this week. he started the week off strong by winning both the ruth ayer’s and ariat medals on friday, and finished up 2nd in the dorothy robert’s and 3rd in the adult jump seat medals on saturday with lots of good learning moments.

i truly cannot thank @delstateequestrian enough for the opportunity to bring this boy home for the summer! thank you to my family, @bridlewoodfarmsinc, @rockymountainequinerehab, @brittanylauren03, and everyone else for always supporting me and cheering me on! ready to get back to dsu soon!

as today marks the first official day of being classified as an amateur, i wanted to take some time to reflect on the amazing junior years i was able to have. if you told little me that she would one day grow up to achieve all of these amazing things she never would believe you. from my first ever blue ribbon to competing at all of the big indoor finals (capital challenge, harrisburg, wihs, kentucky, and las vegas), i am so incredibly grateful and lucky. to my parents @jamiacker90 and @aacker999, thank you for all of the sacrifices you made so that i could live my dreams. to @bridlewoodfarmsinc and karen healey, thank you for being the best barn family and trainers i could ever ask for. excited for my ammy debut at @deserthorsepark in one week! by @melissaackereq
