Take what you need🤍 by @melissacapp

I’m sorry to tell you that changing your body won’t bring you the happiness you think it will 🫣

If the inner dialogue stays critical, the goalpost just moves.

You may have noticed I don’t post a lot about weight loss, progress or transformation photos because to me those things just aren’t that important.

Yes, of course fat loss will improve your metabolic health markers and to be clear that *IS* important.

But when we focus on how our body feels and performs, those other outcomes are just naturally inevitable, and we can arrive there in a happier place.

Believe it or not majority of the work that I do with my clients is around mindset.

Putting together a workout plan, showing up to the gym, learning exercise technique - that is the easy part.

The hard part is undoing the years of storytelling that you’ve been telling yourself about who you are, what you deserve and what you can accomplish.

However, once you’ve done that hard work, the rest is easy and infinitely more rewarding.

Hope this made some of you pause and reflect a little🥰 by @melissacapp

When is the last time you gave your wrists some TLC?👀

I was hosting my community group call yesterday and I discovered that a few of the girlies have been dealing with wrist issues, but had never really thought about incorporating wrist mobility into their routines!

It got me thinking about how often we overlook certain joints when it comes to training.

We spend so much time focusing on mobility in our hips, shoulders, and ankles, but our wrists deserve some love too!

Your wrists are capable of moving in multiple directions, yet most of us rarely explore their full range of motion, let alone intentionally work on improving it.
So here are a few simple movements to get you started! 🫶🏼

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but hopefully it encourages you to give those wrists a little more attention. by @melissacapp

I’m tired of being called a whore 🥱

I can’t imagine being so male-centered that you genuinely believe everything a woman does must somehow revolve around attracting, impressing, or appealing to men.

What’s ironic to me is she also told me, ‘good luck finding a man who respects you’

UGHHH the pick-me energy is too strong.

You know a lot of people online think I’m a stripper. And while I am not, I don’t feel the need to correct that narrative because I don’t think I am inherently better than or deserving of more respect than a woman who is.

And I think that’s where a lot of people fundamentally misunderstand my position.

I’m not arguing that I deserve respect because I’m not the kind of woman you’re trying to insult me by comparing me to. I’m arguing that ALL women deserve respect, including the women you think are acceptable to disrespect.

Anyway, I’m done ranting for now. But she had a lot more to say, should we deep dive into the pick me psychology?🤭 by @melissacapp

Don’t forget your rotations🌪️ by @melissacapp

What’s more upsetting: the lack of clothes? or the moves??🤭

Girls, please move your body 🙏🏻 by @melissacapp

Flexible hips anyone???

If you like my videos and want to learn more from me just comment ‘more please’ and I’ll connect you to my community💗 by @melissacapp

This is how I feel when people accuse me of trying to be sexy when I post mobility exercises - like pls this isn’t even my final form 🤚🏻 by @melissacapp

Any other millennials forgot this song existed?🙋🏻‍♀️

Another one for my girls - as I mentioned in my last post: the hip is a ball and socket joint so we need to be moving it in ALL directions.

Most of us do a lot of hip flexion and extension but we neglect that internal and external hip rotation.

Save this and send it to a friend to keep you accountable so you’re not so stiff🫶🏼 by @melissacapp

There’s this really strange phenomenon I’ve noticed where some men get genuinely angry when they see a woman training on a pole outside of a strip club.

I don’t understand it.

What did the strippers do to you? 😭

Because every stripper I’ve ever met has been one of the loveliest, kindest people.

And ironically they never seem to extend the same hostility to the men paying to be there🙄 a little hypocritical if you ask me.

Anyway, let’s talk about why this style of training is actually so beneficial.

Pole beautifully combines the grace and flexibility of dance with the strength of calisthenics.

Learning choreography challenges your neuromuscular control and kinesthetic awareness. (Bonus points for the neuroplasticity of training new movement patterns!)
Lifting heavy is great for building muscle — but learning new movements is what really challenges your brain.

Plus when you’re having fun, you exercise MORE. And that’s what most people struggle with.

Oh and btw… men train on poles too. Imagine that 😅

The reality is most people grow old and stiff. If you don’t move your body, that’s what’s coming. This is just one fun way to keep it mobile.

So I am going to die on this hill and continue to post and encourage people to get outside of their comfort zone and try new things. Because it’s good for your health. by @melissacapp

My female rage is extra fiery this week after watching the worlds response to Cornell and that SNL monologue🙄

It’s exhausting watching the same patterns play out over and over again. Women are scrutinized, sexualized, criticized for how we present ourselves, and then somehow made responsible for the reactions we provoke in other people.

Why is managing other people’s interpretations of us our responsibility?

I’m not interested in teaching women to be less than to make other people comfortable.

I’m interested in helping women feel strong and confident in their skin.

We’ve spent generations knowing less about women’s bodies than we should. Women’s pain has been dismissed, important health questions have gone unanswered, and research has historically left gaps in our understanding of female physiology.

So forgive me if I find it absurd that women are still being made to feel ashamed of learning how to use their own bodies by @melissacapp
