THE FREQUENCY OF MISSING YOU
I didn’t know silence could hurt my ears.

My brain had memorized you…the click of your paws, the jingle of your tags, your bark, your sigh, the squeak of your favorite toy, and the soft rustle of you settling on the carpet during bedtime prayers.

For ten years, those sounds were part of my normal sensory world. My brain expected them. When they disappeared, my nervous system kept searching, turning silence into something loud.

You were never background noise. You were safety, companionship, prayer, and home.

Now the silence is the frequency of missing you. #dogsarethebest #dogyears by @melissasheridan

“Hard Feelings” is out today on YouTube 🤍 (link in bio)

I’m so thankful for the amazing cast and crew who made this project possible. This is my first short film, inspired by a friend’s online date that took a wrong turn after being asked, “Do you collect anything?”

What he says next is… 😒

There’s always a deeper meaning behind what I write. For this film, the message is simple: be careful who or what you invite to the table. Sometimes, a lack of discernment can cost you more than you realize… including your wisdom. 👀🦷 by @melissasheridan

Coming to Terms.

That is the emotion ruminating in me lately.
Last week we were told it didn’t look good for the Moose. 2 masses. One by his neck, one by his lower abdomen. His health deteriorating, fast. I wasn’t ready to let him go yet. But today was the day.

There’s something so special yet so simple about a dog’s love. I guess in many ways it feels closer to God’s love than any human could ever attempt to love someone.

They are patient. They are kind. And every day we are the prodigal son returning home; they don’t ask us where we’ve been, they just celebrate that we’re there. They always protect. And they would literally lay down their life for us.

They say dogs take on the weight and pain of their humans. I thought that felt a little extreme, but in the 10 years that we’ve had him I’ve had two major surgeries. One in my neck, my parathyroid where a mass was removed, and one in my lower abdomen where a mass was removed from an ovarian torsion at the beginning of this year. Maybe an odd coincidence. Or maybe not.

What a GIFT it is to know a dog, but to love a dog… that is a true honor and the absolute closest you can ever get to heaven on earth.

Bye for now Moose. You were such a good boy. And we LOVE you so much. by @melissasheridan

My last #jerrymaguiremovie #monologuechallenge for the month. Got some good feedback from @alanpowell10 @youreawesomecommunity on this one and it really helped me understand Jerry in this scene. This was the hardest of the 4 scenes I tried from #JerryMaguire so I saved this one for last 😅 I know there’s still room for improvement 💪💪reps💪💪 #actingchallenge #scenework by @melissasheridan

Our feature screenplay “32” advanced to the semifinals at the @nashfilmfest and Jett’s pitch was absolutely INCREDIBLE, landing in the top 10. While we didn’t make it to the final 8 this year, I’m so proud of what he brought to that room!

Also this was our first year entering the @austinfilmfest and “Megalacanda,” another feature screenplay we wrote together made it to the second round, placing us in the top 25% of 12,500 scripts submitted. So grateful for the opportunity to create stories with Jett! We have some more in the works!! #writethestory #dontletfearstopyou by @melissasheridan
