A study in material contrast and tonal restraint. At Chau Cafe, every detail is considered - from the rhythm of the wall lights to the warmth of terracotta brick grounding the custom millwork.

Designed to elevate the dine-in experience - soft, welcoming, and quietly refined.

Good amenity design is about creating spaces people actually want to come back to. A place where focus stays productive and a shared meal feels worth the pause.

When Laura Melling’s clients finally moved into their home, it felt exactly like the renderings had promised.

That’s the conversation we sat down to have with @mellingstudio - not just about the Houlihan Residence, but about what it actually takes to carry a vision from a floorplan to a lived-in space, and where renderings fit into that process long before anyone sees a final image.

Finally remembered to set up our camera + capture the styling process for one of our installs!

This is a Leasing Office for a new rental building for @pathdevelopments that we did the furniture and styling package for on Vancouver Island. The space features a collection of furniture and objects that we curated from a mix of designers and artists both local and afar. by @mellingstudio

Annual Melling Studio Winter Retreat — a time to pause and reflect on an incredible year of growth, creativity and accomplishment together.

Our retreat was infused with our studio values of creativity, collaboration and wellbeing. We began the day with a private wreath workshop with @kadoflowerstudios and continued to a private reformer class at @allmethodstudio and bespoke gift bags.

It was a gentle invitation to connect, slow down + make space for creativity and wellness — because we believe that’s where the magic happens. taken in Vancouver, British Columbia by @mellingstudio
