A little update from my social media break…

September was a really reflective month for me.

Coming out of a difficult year emotionally, I realized I needed to get quiet. Not just on social media, but in general. I needed space to spend time with God, sit with what He was showing me, and really pay attention to what I wanted my life to look like in this next season.

I’m so grateful I did.

I’ve been working less. Spending more time in the Word. Being cool with twiddling my thumbs. Being more present with my friends and family. And my marriage has probably been the sweetest part of this season. My husband keeps me grounded, and I’m realizing how much better I show up as a wife and for the people God has placed in my life when I’m actually present for it.

The funny/wildest thing is, some of the things I wanted so badly just a couple of months ago… I don’t even want anymore.

God has been changing my desires. Thus far, this has been the most influential change during my time away and I am so grateful for it.

That’s also where I am with social media.

I’m still discerning what social media is supposed to look like for me moving forward, especially as a business owner. There’s always that pressure to stay visible, stay relevant, post consistently, keep up. Don’t you “post and ghost” they say… yet for some of us, it might be a healthier way to stay online running a business and be present off of it.

God does not need an algorithm to sustain what He has called us to.

My business has continued to be sustained. My relationships with my clients have actually gotten deeper. And I’ve learned that I don’t have to be constantly online to be connected to people I enjoy.

So you may see me repost something here and there. But I’m still not back on social media the way I used to be. And every time I start scrolling a little too much, I’m reminded why I needed this break to begin with.

I pray this inspires someone to rest a bit.

God has been so good to me. If it’s not for His glory, I just don’t want it 🦋

TIME FOR A CREATIVE RESET 🎨✝️

This month is all about a creative, mental and spiritual reset. An opportunity to “discipline my attention” as the late Myles Munroe would say it!

A few things while I step into this sabbatical:

• All content posted in September is pre-scheduled. So I’m here but I’m not.
• I will not be checking Instagram or Facebook DMs.
• Clients: Please text me M-F, 8AM–5PM for nail related things 💅🏾
• Nail art inspo: Please send it via text prior to your appointment ✨📲

October books will open at 8AM on 9/7.

A note about future bookings:

I am beginning to transition into hours that reflect my best productivity so evening appointments will begin to be reduced. Creating this schedule allows me to do my best work while also leaving room for the things that matter outside of the mani room.

Creativity needs somewhere to come from, not just somewhere to go so I’m hopeful my cup will be filled with fresh ideas during my time away.
