After more than two years of not painting/ drawing, I'm trying to get back into it. It's been frustrating, and I feel like it will be for a while. I mean, it's always been frustrating in some ways, but being at a very strange point in my life, the typical feelings of inadequacy and doubt that most "artists" (don't like that word but it's not easy to find a replacement for it) deal with, have been exacerbated.

When I've tried to paint I can't get myself past the starting phase, and when I draw I feel like a baby trying to walk. I don't like what I draw/ paint but I also don't know what I want to draw or paint, and that stresses me out. I'm trying to put things out there even if I'm not happy with them because I know it helps, it's like taking a weight off my brain.

I know it's a process and all of that, and it's not all bad, of course, but I'm here to vent ok?

But yeah, it's been fun. Cheers 🎢🥴

The incel (involuntarily celibate) micro cosmos is fascinating, worrying, tragic... all at the same time. ~

I will randomly rant a bit about them here, but it's a huge and complex topic that is impossible for me to fully cover in one post, and if some of you haven't heard about them and is interested in their crazy e-universe, there's plenty of information about "incels" that you can delve into about how this "cultures" arise and how/why people reach the often extremely dangerous conclusions and ideas (about the world and about themselves) that many of these people (mostly young men) acquire. ~

I'd highly recommend a @Contrapoints YouTube video in which she analyzes, in depth, their whole "planet", as well as all the moons that orbit it and the suns that pump it with life (titled, quite conveniently, Incels). ~

I do want to mention that despite the many (very valid) reasons why "Incels" as a whole are looked down upon, and frankly, loathed by most (extreme misogyny, self-hatred/harm, resentment, entitlement, racisim and a long etc (a few of them have even gone on killing sprees driven by ideas fostered by these online community)), after doing some very serious and sCienTiFIc research into their spaces, it's not rare to encounter guys who are genuinely looking for support; struggling human beings, that are lost, lonely, desperate, feeling hopeless, and wondering if their lives (sexual, romantic and often social) have any chance of getting any better. ~

The ones that haven't yet succumbed to either biological essentialism (aka I'm too ugly, short, dumb, to ever be loved by anyone so I'll better give up) or to pure woman hatred (those dreaded FOIDS are selfish evil stupid subhumans that only desire Chads and will use and manipulate the "good guys"), are kind of doomed to do so if they let themselves go to these vicious communities, which more often than not, will strip every inch of hope and motivation that they may have to get out there and live the best life they can live. ~

I can't help but feel some sympathy for them, and I truly hope that the ones who haven't fallen way too deep into the rabbit hole, will manage to get out, quick. RUN. by @melonynada
