A weekend of good people, meaningful conversations and important work with my NABJ family — including a special visit to Texas Southern University to commemorate the 50th anniversary of NABJ’s first convention.

Moments like these remind me why I’m so grateful to serve this organization and be part of a legacy that continues to shape the future of Black journalism.

Big shoutout to the @houstonabj for the warm welcome and incredible hospitality. And yes… we’ll be back in 2027! 🤘🏾✨

Atlanta, you were good to us. 🖤✨

A few moments from a week filled with community, connection, purpose and a whole lot of NABJ love.

From the conversations that reminded me why this work matters to the people who continue to inspire me, I’m leaving Atlanta grateful — and even more energized about what we’re building together.

Still riding the high from this weekend ✨

The (NABJ) National Association of Black Journalists Region I Conference didn’t just meet the moment, it moved it. From bold, honest conversations to rooms full of connection and collaboration, this was a powerful reminder of what happens when community shows up with purpose.

A huge THANK YOU to NABJ Philadelphia, NABJ staff, the Young Black Journalists Task Force, our incredible volunteers, and our sponsors—this experience wouldn’t have been possible without your vision, hustle, and commitment behind the scenes.

And to everyone who attended, whether you led a session, asked a question, supported a panel, or traveled miles to be in the room, you brought the energy that made this unforgettable.

Until next time… #BeLikeMike & let’s keep emerging! taken in Temple University Gittis Student Center by @melonyroy

A beautiful morning with some of the smartest most committed journalists, coming together to lift up the next generation. Great job @melonyroy @_iamnkwa and @emarvelous . A joy to also be in the company of @sandraswclark and @saramlomax , truly greatness in action. There are not enough superlatives for @cherrigregg and the top notch work she is doing in every realm. And I so loved meeting the young ones…each one teach one and lift as you climb… a stellar regional show by @nabjphilly ! by @melonyroy
