Period poverty isn’t just about the product. It’s about dignity.

Period stigma doesn’t just cause personal embarrassment, it fuels period poverty, keeping millions of schoolgirls and women from participating fully in everyday life.

Everyday there is a young girl losing precious learning time because she doesn’t have access to menstruation products.

The @menstruationfoundationza , founded by @sivngesi and Marius Basson, was created to end period poverty and make sure that no woman or girl has to choose between dignity and feeding themselves or missing out on a vital education.

To learn more about their amazing work, check our episode with Siv on The Odds in Our Favour. Available from @news24 Podcasts and all major streaming platforms.

A period should never stand between a girl and her education.

In a country so deeply affected by poverty, period poverty creates yet another barrier for millions of women and girls, affecting their dignity, their education and their opportunities.

The @menstruationfoundationza , co-founded by @sivngesi and Marius Basson, is working to change that, one R5 pack of pads at a time, helping young girls stay in school with dignity.

We had the privilege of going behind the scenes and seeing the incredible work they’re doing to tackle period poverty.

🎧Go listen to our The Odds in Our Favour episode with the MENstruation Foundation to hear the story behind the work and the people determined to create change.

As our Women’s Month Pad Drive comes to an end, we are proud to share the impact we were able to make together in partnership with @menstruationfoundationza

Thanks to the generosity of our team, we raised enough funds to sponsor 81 girls with sanitary pads for an entire year. Every contribution made a meaningful difference and will help support young girls in need.

We are incredibly proud of our office for coming together to support this important cause. Your kindness, generosity, and willingness to give back will help ensure that more young girls can attend school with confidence, dignity, and the opportunity to focus on their future.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the campaign. Together, we are helping to make a lasting difference.

🎉 R36 000 raised for the MENstruation Foundation - that’s sanitary pads for 600 girls for a year!

Our August Summit for Dignity goal - hit and surpassed!

All month, women have been heading up to The Mast in Tokai, logging their climbs on our dedicated Strava segment, and raising money so that girls don’t have to miss school because of their periods.

Over the month, we have summed up a summit total to over 230 summits for August !!!

Thank you to everyone who summited, donated, shared and showed up this August. We put our minds to something and were committed to a goal and together, our community has achieved something magical! 🩷
