Ode to erosion. Vase, black clay, 43cm

“One’s mind and the earth are in a constant state of erosion, mental rivers wear away abstract banks, brain waves undermine cliffs of thought, ideas decompose into stones of unknowing, and conceptual crystallizations break apart into deposits of gritty reason.” -Robert Smithson

Sneak peek at the raw textures of unfired vases!

I played with combinations of slips, mixed with grog, rocks, sand, and volcanic ash. And a few glazes applied directly onto the greenware — both under and over this wild setup.

.. what could possibly go wrong? 😂
Kiln unloading today!

I've started to enjoy glazing days.
It's a very special chaos on it's own 😁

Grateful to @estudio.torto for being so patient with my explosive experiments — and for still letting them go into the kiln 💃

Playing with goblet shapes.
About half a year on the wheel, and my hands are starting to speak the clay’s language! It's a pure joy ❤️

Coffee turk. Experimenting with glazes continues 😀

Can someone recommend an engaging course on the chemistry of glazes or useful literature on the topic?
