Our pop-up exhibition in Úštěk (North Bohemia) on 29th June 2020: This pop-up exhibition was held by a group of international master students from UMPRUM Visual Arts programme. This time we chose to keep the topic open and try to widen our mind into unknown territory as foreigners on an exploration of the pilgrimage site in Kalvárie Ostré u Úštěku. We are going back to the basic and returning to the most primitive self again. To explore the suburb side to unseen our usual metropolitan existence. To reconquer the pure sense of "forgetfulness" from the external world, which returns to nature and awakes our inner soul, "forgetfulness" can lead us to transcend from the historical sense – be experimental. The exhibition emphasis calling back our courage to not be paralyzed from our usual practice, explore the other side of the world from a sacred historical place and create our ritual for the inspiration.

Earth skinned alive ©

This series of photographs is made deep in Amazonian forest, region of Iquitos, in remote villages accessible only by water.

These places are drastically disappearing. Modern times have brought oil and gas exploration; gold mining is fueling forest loss. Cattle ranchers are razing rainforest to meet beef demand of the world. Indigenous lands are being invaded. Native people have been persecuted for centuries. Today, their lives are being put in jeopardy by an agriculture industry looking to expand into indigenous lands, and governments who are not willing to stop them.

The main reason for the catastrophic fire ramparts, mercilessly burning huge forests in Brazil, as well as Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela, was deliberate arson attacks - to clear the territory, which brings income to meat dealers. Due to deforestation caused solely by human activities, more than 20 percent of Amazonian forests are irretrievably lost. It appears it is largely up to us to consider how much beef we consume and to reconcile what it costs the planet to produce it.

Key-box:

An Arduino with Blinking leds, just the opposite of the nature aimed to create a contrast with the photography. Blinking leds are alive and emptying battery means disappearance of the nature in time.
