When Aleya first shared her wedding theme with us, a nostalgic kampung inspired concept that brought back memories of old Malay love stories, we honestly wondered if we could do justice to her vision.

But we were wrong.

They may be young, but Aleya and Harith truly appreciate the beauty of old Malay love stories. The simple kampung atmosphere, Malay traditions, family gatherings and the way love was once celebrated made this story feel very natural.

It was not about pretending to be from another time.

They simply loved the feeling of it.

We looked for a nearby outdoor location that matched the old Malay atmosphere, chose a song that carried the feeling of their story, and let everything happen naturally.

No need to force a storyline. We simply observed them.

What made it even more meaningful was knowing that they found us through their family’s recommendation and trusted us to document their story.

For us, wedding photography and videography is not only about making beautiful pictures. It is about keeping a little piece of someone’s story for them to look back on one day.

And somehow, this story made us feel close to them too.

A simple Malay love story, filled with family, tradition, laughter and nostalgia.

It began with their akad nikah at Sungai Kecil, Nibong Tebal, on 29.08.2026.

One day, when Aleya and Harith look back at these photographs and this film, we hope they remember not only how they looked that day, but how it felt to be together.

29.08.2026 Aleya & Harith.

Your story is beautiful, and we are grateful to have kept a little piece of it.

Thank you for trusting Meovara.

May your love continue to grow, and may it last until Jannah.

For this post-wedding session, we had the pleasure of photographing this fun loving, happy go lucky couple.
.
A couple from Parit Buntar, they have been together and in love for many years. Their story began at their workplace, where their first encounter was somehow connected to eyewear. When they approached us, they wanted something different something playful, unique and far from the usual post-wedding photoshoot.
.
So, we took their story to the streets of Penang, mixing their personalities with a touch of old school nostalgia.
.
Ijoi carries that unmistakable old school vibe, inspired by the classic Malaysian band Spin giving the session a little retro character, laid-back energy and a nostalgic feel.
.
Instead of focusing too much on perfect poses, we wanted them to simply be themselves relaxed, playful and comfortable with each other.
.
The whole concept was inspired by who they are as a couple: calm, easy going, perfectly in sync, and always looking for something different and unique.
.
For us, the best photographs aren’t always about perfect poses.Sometimes, it’s the laughter, spontaneous moments, little gestures, old-school attitude and the way two people naturally connect that make a photograph truly special.
.
Atikah & Ijoi, thank you for trusting us, giving us the freedom to create, and allowing us to capture your love in a way that feels completely you.

At that time, the wedding ceremony was held in Teluk Intan, Perak. For the outdoor session, the couple truly wanted to shoot at a place in Lumut a relaxing spot where people gather to eat, unwind, and enjoy the view. To me, it was a beautiful location, especially during sunset, when the sun slowly disappeared behind the hills.

Before heading back to Penang, I wanted to create something more than just photographs. I wanted to capture a memory that would stay with them forever. I imagined them standing calmly before the vast sea, as if the entire ocean was witnessing the journey of their lives together.

Their calm and gentle personalities matched the atmosphere perfectly. The husband works at sea, while the wife is a student who is on her way to becoming a lecturer. Through these photographs, I wanted to express a sense of direction their dreams, their future, and the path they are building together. Even though the ocean may separate distances, their love remains united within the vastness of the sea, as endless as the love they share for one another.

And coincidentally, the outdoor location in Lumut was along the same route as our journey back to Penang.

This moment will forever be remembered in the love story of Izzah & Faizul 26 April 2025. taken in Teluk Intan, Perak Darul Ridzuan by @meovara
