Last Tuesday, a large group of individuals from the Slippery Rock Program Center went to Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park to take a boat tour on "Preston's Pearl.” The boat traveled to various parts of the lake while the tour guide pointed out various wildlife that have a habitat there. The individuals were encouraged to use binoculars to see some of the birds. They were excited to see a Blue Heron and a Bald Eagle's nest. Some individuals preferred to be out on the observation deck, while others were happy to watch out the windows of the enclosed area below. Everyone had a great time on the boat ⛵ by @merakeyorg

Sometimes the best kind of wellness break comes with fluffy hair, four legs and a whole lot of personality! The Stevens Center staff and consumers took a well-deserved pause from their busy day to enjoy a very special visit from mini Highland cows from a local farm. There were plenty of smiles as everyone had the opportunity to pet these gentle visitors, learn about their unique breed and simply enjoy being together. Moments like these remind us how important it is to slow down and make space for a little joy. We are so grateful for the opportunity to create special memories together and bring some extra happiness (and cuteness 💜) to our day. by @merakeyorg

Mike F., James H. and Michelle E. From the Slippery Rock Program Center volunteered at St. Andrew's Presbyterian church in Butler, PA to help organize clothing for their annual consignment sale. First, they sorted the clothing by size, then folded the items or placed them on hangers. Michelle said she had fun and that it felt good to help others. The church members were glad to have the help and said those three were some of the hardest workers they’d ever met! by @merakeyorg

The gentlemen from the Willow Acres Home near Slippery Rock spent the day at Sperdute Farms in New Castle, PA. Bobby, Mark, Paul and Sean had a great time on the hayride farm tour. After that, they went into the pumpkin patch to pick out their perfect pumpkins for Halloween. It was a wonderful day filled to the brim with autumnal magic! by @merakeyorg

Dawn F. from the Keister 1 Home in Slippery Rock just celebrated her 60th birthday. She and her friends went to Chick-Fil-A (one of Dawn's favorites) for lunch. One of the Chick-Fil-A employees noticed Dawn's birthday crown and sash and led the entire crowd at the restaurant in singing "Happy Birthday". Dawn was both surprised and thrilled. Later on, she enjoyed opening her presents and eating her birthday cake at home. She had quite a spectacular 60th! by @merakeyorg
