I’m not sure how to announce a dream come true — but here we go!

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

In a little over a month I will be moving to NYC, something I’ve wanting to do since I was 21 years old.

It’s all just starting to hit me and I’ve got a lot to do before I pack up and head out of SC, but for now just know:

1. God’s timing is perfect (idc how cliché it sounds it’s been the soundtrack of my year). 🎼
2. I’ll still be traveling, speaking, and writing — just with more direct flights. 🙌
3. You you can fish in Central Park. (No. I won’t be eating what I catch.)
4. There is a lot I don’t know, but God keeps convincing me to trust His desire to take care of me more than me ability to hear Him perfectly.

I’ve been shy to share that it’s actually happening. Idk why. Perhaps I still fear man too much. Perhaps I’m afraid something will fall through? Whatever it is, I’m done keeping it to myself. So be prepared for some updates along the way. Here’s to a “SEND IT” season and prayer walks in Central Park. Cool. I’m tearing up now. 🥹

NYC. I love you. See you soon. by @mereknox

Life is a lot of hard. Feed the simple joys. 🌻

Inspired by my girl @karlamiele who buys a bouquet every Friday on her way home from work. I love fresh flowers in my home! And so, fresh flowers in my home there shall be. by @mereknox

Last week I got to visit Southeast Asia to spend time with and mutually encourage local church planters that represent thousands of home churches in the region. I specifically got to spend 2 days with women who lead home churches in their community. Maybe I’ll have a lot of words one day. Maybe the whole point is that the communion of the saints can’t be summed up. But here’s what I will say:

1. God is very much alive.
2. Evil is very real and very dark. It is also losing.
3. The blood of Jesus still heals. And I’m talking about physically. If you think He’s ceased, don’t go to Asia.
4. The global Church is just fine.
5. God loves and empowers women. They are preaching and leading all over the world.
6. Prayer is a believer’s native language.
7. It is time for the West to wake up.
8. Jesus is Lord and He is coming through on everything He promised.

Respectfully…

Acts 2:37-38 - “Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” by @mereknox

“What I do with my grief affects the way you handle your grief; together we form a community that deals with death and other loss in the context of God’s sovereignty, which is expressed finally in resurrection.  We don’t become mature human beings by getting lucky or cleverly circumventing loss, and certainly not by avoidance and distraction. Learn to lament. We’re mortals, after all.“ - Eugene Peterson by @mereknox

Shoutout to a flight voucher and free public libraries. It felt really fun to write some words surrounded by millions of words. What a gift. ✍️ by @mereknox

When is the last time you noticed people? I mean, really noticed? Like simply sat there and observed humanity uninterrupted — without looking down at your phone through images, podcasts, and posts quite literally designed to feed our biases, our opinions, our rage.

But from a bench, with no filter other than the glare of golden hour and the haze of August heat, you may just notice a people whom God loves. Simply. Completely. So much so that He refused to let distance keep Him from stepping into their reality…into our reality.

I just wonder if He often sat by the Sea of Galilee, idly shifting a stone between His fingers, watching a father teach his young son how to skip a rock across the waters. I wonder if His eyes brimmed with tears as a weathered old fisherman cleaned his net and sighed at the meekness of the days catch. I wonder if there was a woman washing her clothes nearby, softly singing to herself as she worked. I wonder if He found Himself humming along.

And in the midst of all this wondering, I can’t help but think that the main thought consuming His mind was, “I love them so much.”

- Ephesians 5:2 says that mostly what God does is love us.
- 2 Peter 3:9 says that it’s His desire that none should perish but all would come to a knowledge of the truth.
- John 3:17 says that Jesus was sent not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

This is not a post diminishing that the way is narrow or that God’s Kingdom doesn’t come with real boundaries meant to fulfill and protect us.

This is quite simply, my dear saints, an invitation to start noticing what you’re noticing.

Your first thoughts about those image bearers, what are they? If it’s anything other than love FIRST, then the path may be narrow but it might be a thin line of our own making. May the Spirit give us new eyes that match the gift of our new heart.

“For God so loved the world…”

And, oh how beautiful they are. by @mereknox
