Among my favorite things from 2023 are these frames from our film about multimedia portrait artist Delita Martin, for the National Museum of Women in the Arts

The film is now on display in the museum’s permanent collection, in a big 3-channel triptych installation.

Big 💛 to DP @_shannonpalmer for working w me to craft a visual language that would play across a large physical space and let museum visitors sink into Delita’s deeply contemplative process… And to our tireless producer @kyaquinn and of course to Delita 🙌 @blackboxpress

After screening at @hotdocs_ @britishfilminstitute London Film Festival, AFI Fest, @jihlava_idff and many others this year, a version of "Blue Room" is now on NY Times Op-Docs

Enormous gratitude to Hayden, Jesus, Lena, Kyle, Amanda and Terrence for sharing themselves and these small bits of their experience. And to Nalini Nadkarni who helped make filming possible. And to all of my very generous + brilliant collaborators:

A bit nervous, relieved, and also thrilled to share that ‘Blue Room,’ a short film that I directed and produced, will premiere at @hotdocs_ next month. Those of you who know me well, know that I’ve been working on this one for a very long time - can’t wait to finally share it with you 💛

Thank you to Hayden, Jesus, Lena, Kyle, Terrence and Amanda for sharing these moments with me. And to my collaborators @isidorebethel @udyt @pilgrim_films @dsvarga for making this labor of love possible, and to our supporters @ifthenshorts @rooftopfilms @logannonfiction @mountainfilm

“Isn’t it fascinating that the simple act of drawing a line on a map can transform the way we see and experience the world?” Here are a few stills from our film about the borderlands.
