spectral dub / electronic ambient

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Finding inspiration in the studio among vintage synths and drum machines, Meridian works somewhere between stripped down spectral dub and ambient electronic variations.

Channeling the unexpected through the exploration of studio processes and groove based structures, his music focuses on repetition and variations, live performance and in-the-moment moods. Putting deep pulsating basses and polyrhythms to good use, Meridian crafts dark and warm textures, delicate atmospheres, that sets a fluid and breathy quality to his music.

Meridian inspirations would be dub production techniques, as well as early 2000s click & cut and electronic dub (Pole, Alva Noto, Vladislav Delay, TM-404, Burnt Friedman, Atom TM... ) as well as contemporary dark ambient and bass music (Sully, KMRU, Ghost dubs, Om Unit, Azu Tiwaline...)

Meridian’s Marja / Nocturne album is out now on Shimmering Moods. @meridian_dub
