spectral dub / electronic ambient
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Finding inspiration in the studio among vintage synths and drum machines, Meridian works somewhere between stripped down spectral dub and ambient electronic variations. Channeling the unexpected through the exploration of studio processes and groove based structures, his music focuses on repetition and variations, live performance and in-the-moment moods. Putting deep pulsating basses and polyrhythms to good use, Meridian crafts dark and warm textures, delicate atmospheres, that sets a fluid and breathy quality to his music. Meridian inspirations would be dub production techniques, as well as early 2000s click & cut and electronic dub (Pole, Alva Noto, Vladislav Delay, TM-404, Burnt Friedman, Atom TM... ) as well as contemporary dark ambient and bass music (Sully, KMRU, Ghost dubs, Om Unit, Azu Tiwaline...) Meridian’s Marja / Nocturne album is out now on Shimmering Moods. @meridian_dub All copies are sold out, digital here: https://shimmeringmoodsrecords.bandcamp.com/album/marja-nocturne Thanks to all artists involved: Ossa, Karen Vogt @karenvogtmusic , Arne Kappen, @fredericalstadt , Arco5 @arco5music and Neve @neve_ambient SHM 336 Shimmering Moods Records 2025

Pre orders start 14.3.2025 // Release date: 21.3.2025 Meridian is back on Shimmering Moods with his minimal dub signature sound and five remixes from electronic, ambient and experimental music artists. The album opens up with « Nocturne Initio », featuring deep pulsating basslines, hints of echoes and subtle evolving textures. Then « Marja » wraps up into a smooth sonic flow, with reverberating melodies and drifting cymbals. « Nocturne Tomo » invites us to a deeper journey with layers of percussive patterns and ghosts of dub chords. The second part features five remixes : First, Arco5 delivers a track which is both delicate and epic, with an intricate production work and emotional strength. Then, Ossa reworks the original song, merging Karen Vogt’s etheral voice with glitched patterns, creating a soundscape for wandering spirits. Arne Kappen crafts a laidback techno dub remix, showcasing his skills for deepness and evolving structures. Neve shrinks the original song to bare bones material and reduce its to seminal surface noise, taking the listener into both macroscopic vision and hypnagogic state. Then, Chouk Bwa member Fred Angstromer creates a longform, free-flowing, lapsteel infused version of « Marja ». Forget about time, close your eyes, let it go and enjoy. @meridian_dub @karenvogtmusic @theangstromers @arco5music @neve_ambient // Mastered by @andrea_a.p_
