In the past 2 days my kitty Onyx had developed repetitive seizures and we spent some time in and out of two emergency vets trying to get them under control. They took very good care of him and we did everything we could, but unfortunately early this afternoon he has passed away. I don't know (yet) what caused this to happen.💔

I hope you can enjoy some of my favorite photos of him- the last one being from yesterday, spending time with him between hospital visits.

Onyx was the silliest and loviest boy ever. He smelt like fresh kitty perfume, and always first to run to greet me at the door. He loved playing soccer with plastic caps and dropping his "caught" toys in the water bowl. He was only 5 yrs old and I thought I'd have so much more time with him. His brother, Mister Frodo and sister/littermate CC and I are all missing him very much.

**Side note** In the midst of this, I understand that I had double booked performances on 10/8. I'll be figuring out how to make it work, but probably in a few days. I do apologize, friends, haha, oops 🥲 as of now, all shows shall go on

Rest in peace little buddy, I love you forever by @metaforest.mp3

"Digging" has arrived. It's been quite the gestation - Cat and I wrote this together back in March of 2024, recorded it at my humble little home studio, and I tried my hand at mixing and mastering it a number of times before we handed the reins over to the inimitable @chrisbyronaudio, who mixed and mastered the final version you will hear.

To me, "Digging" is a song of stagnation, dejection, hopelessness, and hope - a soul seeking reprieve, craving to come unto itself - it is one of the darkest songs I have worked on, sonically and thematically, and is very personal. To you, it can be anything.

We offer the subconscious innumerable opportunities to compare ourselves to others, and it's so easy to feel inadequate or left behind. I've heard that comparison is the thief of all joy, and that has rung true for me. Gratitude is the antidote. And we truly do always have things to be grateful for.

I'm trying to spend less time thinking and more time existing, less time consuming, and more time creating. It is highly recommended. I hope you are all well. Love ya

Lyrics:
Digging my way out again
Where it starts but never ends
Crawling trail of light, fading
Gnawing at the night, vacant

Waking in the dirt, aching
Broken frame of worth, tainted
Begging for birth, yet complacent
Writhing in the earth, nameless

Break into the light
Vision open wide
Savoring the sigh
Here, forevermore, I'll lie by @metaforest.mp3

Thank you to my beautiful band and friends @the_juliaverse @eveymaymusic @wiltingpagesmusic @beatzneats and new buddies from Evey May and @hollyebmusic crew for the amazing show this weekend. Thank you to every person who came out to see us all! ♡

🐈‍⬛🐾As an update for those interested, I am taking it slow to process everything that happened this last week, needing a little hermit-mode at times to spend with my babies, and thank you to my sweet friends and family who have shown support, checked in, brought me snacks or meals or a cup of coffee, even a listening ear, I wasn't expecting any of it and the gratitude I feel is humbling 🫶🏼🫂

If you'd like, check out @mannequin_party and I's new release "Digging" which is attached to this very post 🍂 available on all streaming platforms for your spooky perusing, time to bring in the fall vibes!🪾

Who’s excited for Autumn!? It’s Georgia so I know that heat will hold on, but I hope it cools down enough for that cozy Fall feeling! Save the date for September 13th as we will be hosting another Crow Market at @rooknpawn featuring talented local artists selling their wares. Come by and shop and take break and catch some music by @metaforest.mp3

As always we will be hosting a Food Drive. And don’t forget your trinkets for the trinket trade!

And if you have made it this far and are an artist, crafter or anywhere in between Crow Market would love to have you! Follow the link in bio for more information.
