#TheSouthGotSomethingToSay: Six words from two ATLiens at an award show sparked a shift and change of attentiveness as to where the most diverse and passionate music was coming from. Over 30 years later, the South still got something to say, but this time those sounds are coming straight from the underground and we're curating an aural concoction that is tailor-made to be showcased on the main stage.

Coming this November, @oe85ent & @avainthepit bring to you the #WeAreTheSouth Festival, a three-day celebration and showcase of independent music and businesses from all over the Southeast. Three days, two locations, over 20 acts, one cause, and one mission. Full reveal and details coming soon. Keep it local, make it global. #SupportYourIndieCreativeFriends

All artwork in this carousel is done by none other than @ava.vanhull of @avainthepit. While may be a new face to many, Ava's not new to the scene as she's been supportive of the local and independent music for many years and even has worked under some solid names within the scene. But she has since made the jump in starting up her own entity and has already provided services such graphic design & photography for the likes of @the_dirtnaps x @officialsulfurband @metaforest.mp3 x @ashesmusicofficial_ x @ironmantri
x @thedetour_offtherails x @ga.underground x LatinFest & more.

And it has been such an honor in collaborating with Ava, having her bring own unique vibe on this project and looking forward to the continued growth of her journey with all the Love and support from me and the rest of the community. Give her a follow if you dig what she's doing and #GetInThePit.

#Homecoming: This lovely trio of @eveymaymusic x @metaforest.mp3 x @hollyebmusic came together on the first Saturday of autumn and delivered a show that featured honesty, celebration, and authenticity as they wove through storytelling and song. Thank you to everyone who came through to support these Queens on this night and we hope that you continue to show your Love and support for them with all their upcoming projects. Both Cat & Evey will be at the 40 Watt on 10/8 while Hollye continues work on her debut solo project. All three have recent releases you can vibe to until you catch them on stage at a venue near you. And we'll be revealing our next Feminenergy/Queendom project VERY soon. :)

"Digging" has arrived. It's been quite the gestation - Cat and I wrote this together back in March of 2024, recorded it at my humble little home studio, and I tried my hand at mixing and mastering it a number of times before we handed the reins over to the inimitable @chrisbyronaudio, who mixed and mastered the final version you will hear.

To me, "Digging" is a song of stagnation, dejection, hopelessness, and hope - a soul seeking reprieve, craving to come unto itself - it is one of the darkest songs I have worked on, sonically and thematically, and is very personal. To you, it can be anything.

We offer the subconscious innumerable opportunities to compare ourselves to others, and it's so easy to feel inadequate or left behind. I've heard that comparison is the thief of all joy, and that has rung true for me. Gratitude is the antidote. And we truly do always have things to be grateful for.

I'm trying to spend less time thinking and more time existing, less time consuming, and more time creating. It is highly recommended. I hope you are all well. Love ya

Lyrics:
Digging my way out again
Where it starts but never ends
Crawling trail of light, fading
Gnawing at the night, vacant

Waking in the dirt, aching
Broken frame of worth, tainted
Begging for birth, yet complacent
Writhing in the earth, nameless

Break into the light
Vision open wide
Savoring the sigh
Here, forevermore, I'll lie

#QueensPaintingAuralMasterpieces: Fall has arrived and we're kicking off the season with the tandem of Cat Littlepage (@metaforest.mp3) x @eveymaymusic x @hollyebmusic on Sat. 9/26 at @canopyandtherootsdahlonega as they will deliver an evening of song, storytelling, and empowerment that you don’t want to miss. Having toured with Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) & The Dirty Knobs and shared stages with artists including Ringo Starr, Lucinda Williams, Benmont Tench, Jamey Johnson, Ryan Bingham, Don Was, Lukas Nelson, Blackberry Smoke, and Shannon McNally.
