We have a flight of dogs coming to Toronto on November 11. We have 4 spots left on that flight and many deserving dogs looking for their forever home. Could that be with you?

Canto’s story began at Control Canino, the city pound in San Miguel de Allende. When he arrived, he was heartbreakingly thin, his nails grown long from months on the street, with an infected paw and a deep gash on his leg. Despite the pain, he sat patiently in his cage, quietly waiting for food and a walk. Since his rescue, treatment, and recovery, this beautiful malamute mix has blossomed into the sweet, loyal companion he was always meant to be.

Canto is a big, gentle soul with a heart full of love. He adores being close to his humans—resting his head on your lap, leaning into you, or simply being by your side. Though he can be wary of new dogs at first, with proper introductions he does wonderfully, especially with calm companions. Thanks to his foster family and a professional trainer, he’s learned to trust and play, and he now enjoys the company of his foster siblings.

Smart and attentive, Canto listens well and learns quickly. He’s calm, doesn’t bark much, but will happily sing a little song to you. He’s also a car-ride enthusiast and would make the ultimate hiking and adventure buddy—though he’s just as content cuddled up at home.

After being rescued and treated for a hernia, Linda found peace in foster care, where she discovered the joy of soft beds, kind hands, and quiet cuddles. Now that her foster family is moving, this sweet retriever mix is once again searching for her forever home.

She’s happiest curled up on the couch, gently kissing your hand or gazing at you with all the adoration in the world. Django is a sweet and sensitive boy who’s finally ready to leave behind his difficult past and find the loving home he’s always deserved. This handsome Shepherd/Hound mix has a heart of gold and a calm, quiet disposition that makes him a joy to be around.

Having escaped an environment lacking love and care, Django is learning to trust and love again. He arrived with a chain around his neck, a few scars on his legs, and worn-down front teeth—likely from attempting to escape the harsh conditions he endured. But despite his past, Django is incredibly gentle, loving, and eager to receive affection. He’s a timid boy, especially when offered treats, but he’s gentle and kind, proving how resilient his heart truly is.

Django is fantastic with every dog he meets, regardless of gender, and he’s also good on a leash and in the car. Although we haven’t yet tested him with cats, we believe he’d likely do well given his gentle nature. He’s not yet crate trained, but with a patient and loving human to help him learn, Django will blossom into an even more confident companion.
