Let my life be living proof: that God remembers, God restores, and His grace is always enough.

I want to thank every single person who made this moment possible. My mom, who sacrifices so much for me. Thank you sister @alliciaedosa for your willingness to spearhead an event of this magnitude, with grace, kindness, and love 💝.

Last but certainly not least!!! My amazing designer Lady Anthony🙏🏾 @livnoireclothing all the way from Lagos, you made it happen VIRTUALLY and I am forever grateful for you and Aunty Charlotte 💕💕💕

Physician is my Black Job

From 13 years old, I’ve thought about what this moment would mean—for the {misunderstood} girls who knew what it meant to be underestimated.

For the ones who even considered watering themselves {and their culture} down just to appear more digestible.

But today, I am bold and unafraid to challenge the rules imposed on us—even by those we once aspired to become.

I reflect on the agony of disparities in my communities—both as a child of immigrants and as a child of the Southside.

23 years of being in school has come to an end.
Every obstacle, every loss, every gain. This is what being the first medical doctor in your family looks like, but with the context that her worth far exceeds the achievement.
