Twenty-one marathons, and my fourth Chicago.

Maybe the pre-race anxiety isn’t as intense anymore, but one thing is certain: the happiness of crossing the finish line only grows with experience.

Once, it was all about the distance and the time. Nowadays, it’s more about being part of the event.

Marathon weekend is probably the worst possible time to visit the host city if you’re not a runner or a runner’s family member. The streets are crowded, finding a place to eat can be a challenge, major tourist attractions have huge lines, and accommodation prices are crazy high.

But that’s exactly what makes it so special: being part of a major global event, surrounded by people from all over the world.

And to be honest, most of us aren’t there for the elite athletes. It’s all about the millions of people lining the streets, cheering us on. Among them, one truly special for you. by @mgccruvi

Looking forward to sharing my experience with POCUS in OB anesthesia—a subject that brings back mixed recollections.

It takes me back to the pandemic years, when ORs were being shut down and I signed up to work in an OB ICU (photo 2).

On one hand, there was a great deal of suffering. On the other, those challenging days brought me invaluable experience in this field—experience that I’m grateful to now have the opportunity to share, alongside what I continue to learn through my daily practice in a community obstetric unit. by @mgccruvi
