I like music, guitars, drums, functional product designs, Lego, Excel, Google Sheets, photos with no filters, and LEDs, apparently.

I’ll have to thank my recent adventures on practising martial arts - learning about external and internal kung fu.
Through martial arts, I’ve stumbled upon Zen Buddhism, and I’m grateful its philosophies have made me see the world as it is, not the way that it should be.

Shoutout to @sifujohncogan for having an incredible depth of knowledge, and being candid about everything. Including his observation on how I’ve blocked my heart and to exist in this world.

Now I’ve unblocked my heart, and I’m living in this world. by @mglacius

Either my ears are playing tricks on me, or this fully functional vinyl player is playing frequencies that my ears are new to.

I spoke to the owner of this place and he had other music players that’s fully functional. Tapes (not even cassettes, as in tapes on reels) and many other vinyls.

He’s been collecting antiques since he was 6.. so crazy. by @mglacius

I love Notion. It’s changed how I managed a lot of things, but the more I use it, the more I realise it’s great at managing projects, but not deep research.

Where reviewing notes and the importance of its origins, I decided to open Obsidian again.

The speed of writing notes and linking this to existing concepts of an infinite amount of hierarchies is simply amazing.
My opinion on note taking should be bottom-top instead of a top-bottom approach (like a filing cabinet system)

I’ve hated taking notes because it was impossible to find things and its parallel concepts. I don’t care what it is: I care about all sources of inspirations.

And I don’t get how this app is free. It’s crazy. by @mglacius

To a good friend of mine, and his brother, @jayylimm and @jaysern7, who are such great musicians and guitarists.
Thanks for reminding me to use my ears, and literally, nearly all of my fingers on my right hand instead of a pick 😂

This song reminds me of the room in the game where life choices needs to be made, where one gets stronger through compromise and sacrifice. To move on, you will need to let go of the past, to make way for the future that’ll get you across the line.

Good luck, and my thoughts are always with you through these times.

Heads up: this is the cleanest cut I could take. Expect all sorts of imperfections ;)

I’m flying to Melbourne and going to play some tunes at #followthedragon at #myceliumstudios on the 8th of August.

If you’re in Melbourne, into #melbourneart and love #artexhibition, little bit of #guitar noise, come on by to check this event out!

The #artinstallation has such a deep meaning when I got the brief, and I’ve spent a few weeks switching guitar playing styles to accommodate this event.

Most importantly, it’s going to be fun and definitely one of the many #thingstodoinmelbourne

Or swing by and have a chat. Would love to see you awesome people there!!

🎵 The Oppressed - Beck's Badasses (Final Fantasy VII: Remake)

Felt the groove bones clicking inside of me, so I decided to check this track out.

Most importantly.. is there a thing as J-Raggae? (Rhetorical question: there probably is)

Been watching a few bass players lately, and I don’t know how they do what they do best:

One of the most talented ball handlers of our era had to watch his team play as a spectator.

No matter where you place him, once he hits the 3 point line, he’ll get to a higher probability point to net the ball.

Well, what do you do?

Each game passes without watching this brilliant person doing his thing with Patty Mills and Kevin Durant.

🎶🎸 The first 3 artificial harmonics for the year in one of the happiest songs on my playlist (FF7 - Yuffie’s Theme)!

---

One of the best resources to find would be renditions of existing music.
If you’re a FF7 fan, there was a boxset released in 2020, a 7 disc album (I wonder why) + 1 disc, which turned out to be my favourite part of the entire album (Check out Barret’s Theme - it’s got some strong bluegrass stuff going on.)
It sounds like a specific band playing all sorts of fun renditions of iconic themes in the game.
(For those who played the game: It’s the songs find on the jukebox in the game.)

Thanks Nobuo Uematsu for giving us all of the crazy ideas you have.

Secondly, spending time away from music seemed to have the strangest effect:
I seem to listen and hit notes better at the expense of my calluses disappearing.
I’ve always wanted to undo my muscle memory-approach to playing music, so I guess that’s a good start. 😂 by @mglacius
